Now, I would like to move a step further and make my own API Calls with the Invoke-RestMethod in PowerShell but I am having a hard time to get started (disclaimer: I have a backgrouind as a sysadmin, not a web developper). Hi, I am facing error regarding connection to DeDuplication Database. It can be caused by many reason but my specific problem is that the directory with DDB is locked for write. This was confirmed by SIDBEngine.log and simply you cannot create folder in DDB folder.Status of DDB is ONLINE. I can freely read from it, I can freely travers through it, I can copy the folder to different place and here I can create files/folders inside without limit. There is no way to manage from CMV - it is not possible to backup, restore, seal, verify etc. I cannot move the partition. It seems as Windows/Hardware problem but….I checked windows logs - no events from disk, scsi etc.I checked filesystem - all looks fineI checked hardware events (it is HPE server, so iLO log, IML log, I checked smart array status)It seems that it is limited only to this DDB folder. On the same drive, same volume, different directory all working as usual. So there is no write protec

Hi Everyone,I receive this message: “Cannot allocate Pipeline Buffer”. Not always, but time to time. Obviously it is kind of lack of resource for this job. I changed the backup schedule to another time when the system is not so busy, but still receive the same message. The job being restarted and pass successfully. Does anyone has some proposal how to fix this situation?Thanks in advance!

Hello Guys, I need your help. The Customer protects two VMware vCenters. During backup job of any subclient and any vCenter they are getting the following error:  I tried run backup using diferent VSA but I got exactly the same error.

Hi,I’m looking for a document explaining the meaning of Commcell client icons since I’m installing the FileSystem agent as restore-only in two clients in my infrastructure and one of them appears in the list with a penguin icon greyed out with a green arrow pointing downward in the top left corner of the icon, while the other only with the penguin icon greyed out.I was guessing what was the difference between them and if there was a list explaining the icons in commcell console.Thanks!

Hi,I was wondering how people are scheduling backups. (for example file system backups)Do you only run incrementals and Synthetic fulls? Or do you sometimes run a “real” full?For example, 1 “real” full a month, a daily incremental and a weekly synthetic full.I’ve always heard never to “only” use incrementals and synthetic fulls, and to slip in a “real” full backup once in a while. What would be the reasoning behind it?Looking forward to hear your feedback.

Hi all, my task is to deploy multiple VSA proxies. Since I do this for the first time I can not really imagine all caveats and pitfalls that can be hidden.The right procedure should be:install Windows or Linux machine (physical or virtual) install VSA module during Commvault package installation (also specify Commserve server during installation) be sure that required ports are open on the newly created VSA proxyThere is a cuple of questions what to do next:is it necessary to create any Vcenter permissions/roles (as per video https://kb.commvault.com/article/63239 )? how to enable using this newly created VSA proxy? Any contributions will be much appreciated!

Hi all!as time went by, the disk space on the disk library associated with CommServerDR policy is full. Unfortunately, on the Primary copy of the CommServerDR policy WORM Copy settings has been enabled. Even worse, the retention period has been set to infinite.Would it be feasible to move the mount path/the disk library to the different disk and then concurrently create new policy copy in CommServerDR policy, that could be set as primary instead of current one?Or is just the only solution either reinstall all CV environment (as it is DR policy) or to ask support for eliminating the WORM copy?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi CV!I have an Azure SQL Database backup failing with the below errors in the Job Details: Error Code: [30:414] Description: Failed to export Azure database [AzureDbName] to Azure storage. Please look at the SQLiDA log for more details. Source: AzureSQLProxyCilent, Process: SQLiDA  Checking the SQLiDA.log I can see that the database copy operation in the SQL Instance is succeeding, however exporting the BACPAC to the Azure Storage account configured in the agent properties is failing with the below error: The storage account cannot be accessed. Hi All,I have upgraded the CommServe from 11.24 to 11.28.After the upgrade the windows do not open in Commcell Console - for example: Job Controller, Event Viewer, Alert, Scheduler, Commserve Browser,... Even the Commcell Console window itself does not close when I click the cross button.To check/reproduce it on another computer I ugraded the Commcell Console module on Media Agent server to 11.28 and the behavior is the same as on the CommServe server. Thanks for help,Lubos

Hi there,I would like to understand what is the diferrence between Size of Application, Size of Backup and Data Written.Below there is my understanding so far, please make me correct if I am wrong. Size of Backup - Total size of data that should be backed up (including Index files)Data Written - Total size of data physically stored to the library/diskSize of Application - found this definition “The original size of the data before compression”, then what is the difference between Size of Backup and Size of Application? I would be grateful for your ideas. 

I am running low space.  I want to run disk reclamation. If I run this, how much space can I be saving?

We have a primary commserve and vcenter. We have multiple sites each with a physical media agent, esxi servers and netapp as storage. The media agents talk back to the primary vcenter to back up the local vm’s at each site. For some reason jobs started failing at one site, it was working before but now I am seeing the following error: Error Code: [91:465]Description: Unable to connect to vCenter server [VCENTER] as user [CVSERVICEACCOUNT] from access node [REMOTEMEDIAAGENT]. [Unable to connect to the remote server]Source: REMOTEMEDIAAGENT, Process: vsdiscoveryNow from this remote media agent, I am literally able to log into the vcenter using the service account. So this does not make any sense why every job is failing with the above error message. Does anyone know what I can check or do to help resolve this?
