Hi All, One of the customer configured the NAS Backup with NetApp SVM and enabled CIFS and NFS protocol under the same NAS client. https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/add_nas_file_server.html He enabled the snap backup at Instance level on each protocol (CIFS/NFS). But whenever he creates user-defined sub-client under the specified protocol, the snap-backup was not enabled by default and need to enable by manually. Would like to understand that whether it is a behavior by design or anything I need to do extra to automate it?

I am monitoring the subclients. I see the “enableBackup” in the api for the subclients but notice the job does not run when the instance is not enabled which I can detect visually from the UI but do not see an attribute in the Instance or InstanceProperties API. Is there attribute for the instance enabledBackup?  

we want restricted CV agent uninstall form local user.one more thing require. like if commserve not communicate with client, then can we take backup locally save in d drive. and once communicate with commserver then automatically update on server or target ?is it possible ? how ?

My customer just testing Storage accelerator in his environment and has some questions.Scenario 11.36 : Client installed with file agent. SA in place and does its work for weeks. We are currently using Commvault v10, and we have data stored on tape that we need to restore directly to a Synology NAS Unit system, which is mapped to the media server. This is necessary because there isn't enough space on the media server itself. However, when I select the media agent for the restore destination, the network locations are not showing up. Additionally, since it's a NAS unit, we are unable to install the Commvault agent on it. 

Hello All,We see that Commvaut is using rondom ports on clients as you see below. Commvault listens these prots always not only dıring backup. How to ignore that issue I did configuration on client. But It is still using ramdom ports

Hi Community,We are planning to implement MediaAgent side software encryption in our Commcell. I have changed subclient encryption setting to Media side for all the existing clients. But for new subclients the default encryption settings is Agent Side.Is there anyway to set by default the Media side encryption for all the new clients?

Hello,I made several plans with two backup destination (primary and secondary).On these backup destination, the retention periode is 3months, but when i look to restore data, i see that i can restore data from beyond 3 months.Why ?The Data aging is runing daily, so i don’t understand the problem.Also, some plans respect the retention period and other no.

I can't add the hypervisor. We've already checked the communications and the credentials are correct. Does anyone have any idea why? The Commvault version is 11.34.28.   

We just received an alert that the sku for autoscaling is being deprecated. Is there a new one we can use, and I assume an additional setting to define the new sku. I will attempt to use the windows sku, but I fear it may be next in line for deprecation. One or more image versions within the plan commvaultlinuxfr32 from the publisher, commvault, have been scheduled for deprecation. As of August 16, 2024, you have workloads that are running on these images. These workloads will continue to run and will not be impacted. However, additional instances cannot be deployed after the deprecation date.

I would like to know if there are ways to restrict restoration user permission from AUX copies and only allow the restores from the Primary copy.

When backing up from Oracle RAC, Commvault selects an available server by default.Is it possible to select a specific server for backup? 

I can see in the health dashboard that there is a Cleanup report which shows clients that are in a VM Image and a client based backup but is anyone aware of  a report that would show clients that are in any two or more schedules. For example two Client FS backups.. Thanks for any advice.

Hi team,We are building up a new infra in Azure to be responsible to back up all workloads running in Azure, which are currently managed by a Commcell running on-prem.Having that said, we want to migrate ONLY the Azure workloads from this Commcell to the new one, running in Azure. I know that Commcell migration is not supported for Azure, even on version 11.40 (we are on 11.36 latest MR): CommCell Migration - SupportReconfiguring the pseudo-clients and enabling again VSA backups, it's easy and has been done already.The problem is that there are VMs in Azure runnings DBs, where we do a combination of Filesystem and DB agents backups.What would be the quickest way to move the agents from one Commcell to another to avoid the manual work, as there are several clients? Any way that I can user Export/

Hi, short question one customer is using vmware vcenter 7.x and will now update to 8.x in this enviroment we are using livesync for vsa. We run backups in primary dc run dashcopy to dc2 and restore all vms in dr datacenter.  My question is when the customer is updating the vcenter did we getting new id for the vms and if this causing an fulle restore on dr site
