SQL DBAs want to be able to create Availability Group clients for themselves, and I’m all for it.However, they don’t have the New Client button in the ribbon that I have (I have the ‘master’ role). I have been looking for what permissions to assign to a role for them but haven’t worked it out yet.I have read Books Online (which caters for Command Center we don’t use) and have found nothing there to help.DBAs can backup and restore SQL clients no problem, now I need them to create AGs. Can anyone help with what role needs to be defined for this? In “normal Commvault Operations”, Should I have tapes in my tape library that have “Last Write Time” set as a date (not empty), and on them a write session (or a few), but the data on the tape is 0 bytes and no associated storage policy?For all storage policies/tape copies (except a few) we have “infinite” retention set on the tapes.  For those that do not, retention is “years” (except the DR tape(s) .  We do not re-use tapes.I have several (like 40 tapes) with “Last Write Time” set to a few days (or weeks… a few are months)  ago, etc and all are0 bytes. Not all tapes in the system that are 0 Bytes have Last Write Time set.  Using ‘tape → view contents” shows “no data” (as expected). The tapes show they have been mounted (“Number of mounts > 0) and there sems to be a file marker or 2 on them.So: I’m wondering how to tell “what its writing to them” and why or if “this is normal” as part of some internal 1 time “tape validation/initialization” job or something…

Can we use Load balancer for commvault livesync setup with Floating DNS name to automatically failover to other node.

Dear Community,  anyone has experience with DB2 point in time restore of more than 1.5 TB Database if yes can you share me how long it takes … in my case almost 9 hours taken for restore. data restore taking 4 to 5 hours and roll forward taken 4 to 5 hours.

I don’t want to use the livesync for the moment. The idea is to build a new commserve on a isolated environment, import the DR backup Database to the new cs01copy the Media agent ma02 VM on the isolated envthen I’ll have the new cs01 and the media agent on the seconcary site isolated environnementWhat about the DDB and Index cacheWhat I know is the DDB isn’t necessary to perform restores.Maybe additionnal steps are required ? Thanks for the help !

My customer just testing Storage accelerator in his environment and has some questions.Scenario 11.36 : Client installed with file agent. SA in place and does its work for weeks. Hi,I have few questions about compliance lock and the retention of last full backup.How does the retention of the last full backup work in a storage with a compliance lock? Is the retention for the last full backup updated when a new full backup is added at the end of the month? I know that compliance lock can't lower the retention.For example, if a full backup occurred on the 15th day of the month considered as the last full backup of month and the retention is set to 1 year, but on the 30th day of the month a new full backup occurred and it is the real last full backup of the month, does the first full backup will update the retention date even if it is in a storage with compliance lock.Is it recommended to select "Last full backup" for a extended retention job with compliance lock? Do you recommended to use instead "First full backup" with compliance lock? What is the best practice?

Hello, is there any official article in the CV documentation, which would clearly state, that the VM does not need to be protected by the Virtual Server Agent (VSA) to consume a VOI license.
