Hi, I have issue after upgrade Commserve and MediaAgent. On the customer environment has Commserve and 2 MediaAgent, I have upgrade Commserve to SP24 and 2 MediaAgent to SP24. The result Commserve is complete upgrade fine and 1 MedaiAgent is complete upgrade fine. The second MediaAgent is display that can’t communicate with commserve need to change commserve name.I have check on Commcell the second MediaAgent go offline and check readiness, it shows about communicate. So I try to check network ping , telnet , and check on hostfile. CS can ping <ip> and <hostname> to second MediaAgent, MediaAgent can ping <ip> and <hostname> to CS. CS = OKMA1 = OKMA2 = need commserve to change name Is anyone has meet about this issue? Please advise me. Thank you.

Hello,We are backing up VMWare VMs using image level backup. These VM have client file system iDA installed to backup NFS and RDM LUNs which are mapped to VMs.We have performed the restore of one of the VM in test environment with different name, to restore the files & folders into the RDM LUN we want to register the client agent with the Commserve with new hostname without re-installing the agent.Is there a way to achieve this?PS: We are not using IntelliSnap feature.

Hello,During a DDB reconstruction process, how does it reconstruct the missing data?  In our case, it first performed a restore of the last backup which was from sometime early morning.  Does it then access the library storage directly to reconstruct the missing data or does it access the Commserve?  I’m asking because I’ve been told conflicting information from different Commvault technicians.  I just want to make sure that I understand this process clearly.  Thank you. Bill

Hello guys,is there a method, that allows me to rename the CommServe’s client name ?in previous Version (<SP16), I was able to do this during a DR Recovery. But this option seems to be removed from CSRecoveryAssistent.I now can modify the displayName instead, but most of the reports, as well as the MetricsServer, are still pointing to the clientName, which can be slightly confusing.I moved the CommServe to a different Domain, and the ClientName was matching the HostName, which is the FQDN of the CommServe.I’m using currently using FR22 for this environment.any hints wellcomeKlaus

When trying to do a restore I get the error “The index cannot be accessed. Try again later. If the issue persists, contact support.” I checked the Data Recovery Job History and the errors state it’s trying to restore the index and the media (tape) isn’t available. The tapes it is looking for are bad and no longer exist.This happens for jobs going to tape or disk. I would be fine with deleting the index and starting over, but I can’t figure out how to do that either.Thanks for the help.

Hi everyone This is my first post. I was trying to restore some files I lost from an earlier backup. I could view the files and folders. I selected the copy precedence to be 1 (my primary copy)However, whenever the operation starts, it gives the error “Failed to read media during restore” and stops at 5%Everything seems fine. Until I tried to skip the errors, and I find out that the folders are restored, but no files in them.Please help out. Is there something in the settings I have to change?

hi everyone,after regular snapshot backup the Commvault doesn't delete snapshots.As of this moment, the snapshot capacity is above 22Twe are not working with IntelliSnap or some solutions, our vSphere version is 6.7u3I would be happy for any help or suggestion.thank you!

The VSA proxies are virtual machines and they send the data to physical media agents.We got the question from our customer: which value do you take into account to make your disk capacity calculations from the VMWare RVTools? Hi Commvault-people. I have a large partitioned DDB which has been writing to a Cloud-based library, and has been for some time. The DDB partitions are roughly 2 TB’s in size. As is recommended when you have been writing to Cloud libraries, it should at some point be sealed, and I would like to go ahead. We are also on the cusp of the maximum threshold for Q&I times. However, I need to make sure I have enough space for my DDB on the current volumes. So the question is, what happens to the old DDB? I am assuming that it will remain at 2 TB’s in size until there is a corresponding reference for the blocks in the new DDB, or the blocks eventually age and are therefore not required. Maybe that will take months. Quite probably. Whilst it ages out old blocks, will the old DDB reduce in size? But what can I expect from the new DDB? If I only have a 3 TB volume, and 2TB is taken up by the o

Hello, One of the Media Agents keeps running out of space and I am trying to determine why this is happening and what else stored on this particular drive can be deleted.  I believe that this is caused by new content being written to our DR_Backup folder as it is over 400GB (drive is only 500GB).   I would like to know what they files are for and to what extent they can be reduced / deleted. Additionally there is another folder on the same drive that I believe can be deleted but I wanted to doub

I have this issue with our VM Error opening the disks for virtual machine [NSVM]. Verify that the correct transport mode is selected. See. I have tried all I could. Not until I had to use this option of intellisnap,It works but the challenge here is I used the ESXI virtual machine as a snap engine it worked but the issue is once it finished doing backup of that virtual machine it doesn't delete the snap from the VM I have what setting I can implement to achieve this.

Noticed the instructions are incomplete on Creating a CA-Signed Certificate for the Tomcat Server (commvault.com)Followed instructions, creating keystore file and then generating csr.After getting csr signed. A CER is received. Now i have a keystore.jks file and signed CER file .What would be the next action in converting this to correct format to then proceed to Configuring the SSL Certificate for Tomcat Server (commvault.com). Any help is appreciated thank you.

Hi Guys, As we are preparing to create a replicated data to a new DR site, using DASH copies to get the best performance possible, we also thought about harden the data sent there with the use of WORM. We already know that CV has its own WORM property, and actually, the storage that we have in the DR (Huawei Oceanstore 100D) has its own built-in WORM protection.My question is, can the activation of WORM be made on both sides (CV + Storage) without issues ? Or, should it be one side only ? Thanks guys.

Hello Commvault Community, Today I have a problem with the first full PostgreSQL Client backup.Our client has configured client PostgreSQL ver. 12.5 on the Centos 7 system. The client seems to be correctly configured - the connection to the base is there.The first backup full, unfortunately stops with the pending status and an error:Error Code: [19: 599]Description: Loss of control process PostGresBackup.exe. Possible causes:1. The control process has unexpectedly died. Check crash dump or core file.2. The communication to the control process machine xyz might have gone down due to network errors.3. If the machine xyz is a cluster, it may have failed over.4. The machine xyz may have rebooted. Running v11SP20.40.  We’re having a ton of occurrences in the last 3 weeks of this error across multiple environments:[The SDT data transfer was terminated on a request from the Job Manager.]I work in a MSP environment with the CS in one datacenter and the MAs spread out around the country.  We have a minimum of 10GB on our datacenter links from MA-MA and MA-CS.  I’m curious if anyone has seen this and has any resolution or troubleshooting steps.Thanks!
