Hello Everyone,

there’s a WF for Auto-install FS Agent on New Client?

Best regards,

xor

I need this step:

  • Auto-discover new Machine
  • Auto Install FS Agent on client

I don’t see anything exactly as described, but we have a few that are sort of close, and you might be able to copy and paste pieces from each:

This workflow installs agents in app aware clients:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/2001_running_installing_automatically_discovered_applications_workflow.html

This one monitors and installs updates:

I assume you have some qualifiers for new clients, like a name or IP range or something to be ‘discovered’?

I’ll tag in @Chris Sunderland as well as @Onno van den Berg and @Jos Meijer  who might have some experience with this need.

Hello Mike,

starting with this → https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/2001_running_installing_automatically_discovered_applications_workflow.html

Do you have some info for Install the the “Specific Apps”?

Ex. for Windows Install File Server Core and File Server and Data Archiving.

This feature is referring to Virtualization.  We can detect new applications on vms and ensure they are protected.

Here’s the pre-req docs:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/106229_requirements_for_application_aware_backups.html

Not sure if this applies to your situation, though if these are all vms, then look into App Aware.  Very cool feature.
