browsing guest files for a linux file restore giving error

Hi Team,

 

Greetings! 

while trying to browse the files / folders for the VM, we are getting below error. cvfbr_validation looks good and validation fine. connectivity to MA / cs via 8400-8403 is good as well. still not sure why getting this error. any help will be appreciated. 

 

Browse failed due to error while mounting virtual machine: Client mediaagent1 can not attach service in cvfrelp1*cvfrelp1*8400*8402. Please address communication issue between this two clients..]: [2] Args Pushed, [1] Args expected

Hi @Allan0105 

Based on the error message it appears the issue is between mediaagent1 & cvfrelp1, can you please ensure that both machines an resolve each other on their respective hostnames both short & FQDN.

Also please ensure that port 8400 / 8403 is also open in both directions between those machines.

You can also consider adding a Data Interface Pair between the servers to ensure the correct path is used.

After changing CS name on the properties on below path, its fixed. Many years ago the CommServe underwent a server name change, but apparently there are some ghosts of the server name past that we can't seem to shake.

/etc/CommVaultRegistry/Galaxy/Instance001/iDataAgent/.properties
