commvault.Instance001.service has suddenly stopped on all the linux clients.

Next backup will run on Saturday.

I believe this is a commvault communication service on all clients which needs to be run in order to backup clients.

Could you please let me know how to restart this as I cannot have backup failures this saturday. It is crucial to the business.

Hello @RandomCustomer

You can run command  “#commvault start” to start the services.

Thank you,
Collin

@RandomCustomer

commvault.Instance001.service has suddenly stopped on all the linux clients.

This is unlikely to happen on it’s own (for all the Linux clients) unless an operation was triggered such as install updates which brings down the services in order to install the latest fixes.

Was any administrative operations triggered recently? Do we know why the service stopped on ALL the clients?

Thanks,

Sparsh

I have seen this type of behavior when security scans hit commvault ports. Are there any security scans being run against these clients?
