Hello,

Could someone please provide the proper steps to decommission the Windows media agents and asssociated DDB, and Disk Libraries?

We have migrated to hyperscale and the legacy environment needs to shutdown.  It is just running DDB backups and Index backups.

Hello ApeSqueeze,

Thank you for reaching out to the Commvault Community!

The first document being posted below is the “Impact of the Media Agent deletion” that you need to use to verify what needs to be adjusted based on what the Media Agent is being used for in the environment currently.

The second document contains the needed steps to retire the deduplication database (this is similar to a regular seal but it will not create a new DDB to replace it.

The third document is the actual deletion of the Media Agent itself. Keep in mind that some of the points from the first doc will keep the MediaAgent from being successfully deleted while others will not stop the deletion.

Hopefully this helps!

Hello fellow ape,

To delete the library you would need to disassociate/re-associate  any storage policy copies which point to this library as a data path. You can delete the copies if they are no longer needed

You would need to delete the GDDP policy as well.

Once the Library shows no associations in Library properties, you should be able to right click and delete the library.

Then you should be good to retire the Media Agent:

Please let me know if I can further assist.

Thanks.
