Hi,After a Hardware refresh (SP24 MR 69) from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019 (including a database upgrade from SQL Server 2014 SP3 to SQL Server 2019), the Content Extractor and Data Analytics services won’t start.As a temporary workaround, I can make them start if I change the ‘Log On As’ from Network Service to Local System, but I would like to recover the default behavior. When I restart the services with this workaround, they get their default values back as I would expect (Network Service as Log On As).I was wondering if any of you had a similar problem and have suggestions on how to troubleshoot this.Thanks!

We recently upgraded to 11.28. We have used the metrics server to query the Monthly Chargeback table under CVCloud DB so we can get charges back to our customers. This no longer has any data. I did a query of pulling everything with no parameters and nothing is there. Is there a new table to query for these reports. Hi, We have few Windows Media agents that has DDB with 2 partitions.Each partition is hosted on a different volume of course.The volumes use ssd disks and we plan to upgrade these disks to a higher capacity ones.What is the best practice here ?Use the move partition option, as described here - https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/12582_moving_deduplication_database_to_another_location.htmlor use this option ( Never used it before )https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/12588_moving_deduplication_database_for_hardware_refresh.html Thanks
Background:Apparently the “Commserve_DR_Disk” and Primary/Secondary copies are created automatically during certain CommVault installation/setup steps….We are attempting to retire an old disk library and there’s still some data on it that commvault will not age off (I may have to create a ticket for some of it). I could force/delete it but I’m also trying to have it clean up “nicely/cleanly”. One of the larger blocks of data appears to be some DR backups that are attached to the ‘Primary” copy. I did some digging by running the “Data Retention Forecast and Compliance Report” and it appears that this data (~10 TB) is hanging around due to “Managed Disk Space Option Enabled for Prunable Job on Disk Media”. I checked the Primary copy and yep, the “Enable managed Disk Space for Disk Library” has been checked. i assume tahts teh setting causing the extended retention.Questions:Is “Enable managed Disk Space for Disk Library” checked by default by commvault when it creates/builds the Commse
Hi, more time when server are fully loaded, when i restore guest file from a vm backup and on restore process i use DOWNLOAD from web console and i have “error” session disconnect.In this situation the web browser not download restored file, but from console i see restore process complete.i suppose that are the timeout of commandcenter session but the file processed are store in a temporary folder of commserve?Thanks
After a hardware refresh of the CommServe, we deployed a new Web Server to use it as our main web console/Command Center. We are able to use the new server’s URL for the web console, but it does’nt work for the AdminConsole/Command Center, we get a 404 error Not Found. The Command Center actually works if we enter the CommServe URL manually, but not with the new Web Server’s URL.We tried to force the new Web Server’s URL on the CommServe object using the additional setting WebConsoleURL/CommServeDB.GxGlobalParam, but the Command Center is still unavailable. TomCat and IIS were restarted, on the CommServe and the new Web Server, but the Command Center will only work with the CommServe URL.Anyone had a similar problem or have suggestions?
Hi, Our MySQL DB admin has removed some transactions logs from DB side. No we recieve following error in incremental backup. our full backup is a snap backup. So after the full, incremental are also failing with the same error. what we can do to fix this without purging logs from D side ? Really appreciate the help at this point.
Hello,I want to centralize the view of all my commserve located at different site.Each commserve is independant with their own libraries, media agent, clients.My infrastrucutre is composed of1 commserve on premise hosted on Head quarter1 commserve DR on AWS 5 sites with their own commvault environnement is it possible and how to achieve that ? does it need additional servers ? The most important thing is to view all the reports at te same console I have seen a post were this option is mentionned :https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/133198_viewing_service_commcell_information_at_global_level.html also I have seen :GRC and Universal Command Center Thank you very much !
Good Day,As part of a support ticket I’m working on, we have to upgrade our environment from SP20 to SP24. I had some issues going directly to SP24, but was able to get there by going to SP22, then SP23, and now we’re at 11.24.7.The issue is that I’ve noticed these Uninstall Software jobs are being automatically created and removing software from our Edge laptop clients. I’ve looked at the logs for the job but I don’t see a reason for this or what criteria it’s using to select clients.Has anyone else seen this or can help troubleshoot? Hi, I have recycle the tape backup by setting the retention days. but after i use Erase Spare Media Option, i though the Storage Policy wont get removed but it does. any other way to make the tape not available for other Tape backup storage pool? is there any way to assign the tape to only that particular storage pool? kindly advise. Hello!We are finally testing Indexing v2 for VMs and it seems like it is MUCH faster than V1. We are testing on our 800+ dev/test VMs and we have some random errors:Failure Reason: Mismatch detected in blocks being backed up for certain volumes or disks. The next incremental will resolve the situation automaticallySo yeah, I opened a new case with CV support but… it seems like they have no idea what should be done :)So, now the Support Engineer says that the problem is ...with the incremental backup before Synch Full. Interesting, but the last incremental is green. I am uploading more and more logs for investigation, and there is no answer [yet].So, I wanted to ask the community, probably somebody knows what could be the reason.BTW, using Indexing v1 with the same ESXi hosts, the same network etc we did not have issues like this.
Hello, We have installed LiveSync via the Java console, but when we go to LiveSync tile in the Web console to enable automatic failover and set up the monitoring nodes, we get the following message “CommServe LiveSync package is not installed. Install the CommServe LiveSync package and try again” Has anyone else seen the above issue? and if so, how did you resolve it? Many Thanks, Craig

We are thinking about to have the importands VMs from the company vbackup to NetApp volume which has SnapLock enabled, reason to be save for a ransomware attack. my question now is it possible to start a live recovery of the VMs as the snaplock storage is readonly? we running v11sp24.34, vm backup wth v1 indexregrads Jürgen
Hello Commvault Community, I am looking for a report that will help me extract information in an easy and comfortable way (for example during the audit), where I can see what, when and where was restored database, similar to those virtual machines (VM Restore Details Report). If it matters, I mainly care about reports that include SQL Server databases. Hi allI am running a PostgreSQL restore and the DBA has mentioned that the index files haven’t restored on this particular restore process. I’m doing a table level restore to another DB instance (out of place).He mentioned a restore that was completed in December had the index files restored. I’m a bit at a loss as there is no option to allow this from what I can see. I also followed the identical restoration process as was done in December so I’m a little stumped.Not sure if there is a simple solution to this? I am happy to log a support ticket bu thought I’d ask here first.Thanks in advance.Mauro
Hi Team, We need small update on 1 of the client which is having Cloud apps with Cosmo DB installed, so do we need apply hotfix on that server as well as we can see from CV console we cannot apply hotfix on cloud apps server, is there any way from Command Center to apply the hotfix on that server.
Hi, We have just replaced the Commvault with another backup solution recently, and therefore, we are going to decommission the Commvault (nothing wrong with Commvault though, it’s just a decision made by the headquarter where the Netbackup had already got a larger deployment scale). However, there is a problem.We have some Commvault tape backups which by regulation, need to be kept for 7 years. Therefore, in theory, we need to keep the existing Commvault (somewhere) for the same duration, right ?But, I’ve noticed 2 things about those tapesThe backups on those tapes don’t really have 7 year retention, it’s merely the fact that they are kept off-site (by a 3rd vendor) for 7 years ! In other words, all of those backups have already expired in the Commvault catalog. Even those tapes themselves are no longer in the Commvault So, my question is, giving the circumstance, is there still any point of keeping the Commvault ? Or the Commvault can still retrieve data from those tapes for restore,
