Hi,Another question: We have HANA instances, with couple of tenants(dbs) in there. So : HANA instance1 => TenantDB1 => TenantDB2If we want to disable the HANA backups (backup activity), we can disable it on the HANA instance1. So far so good. But that option doesn’t exist on tenant/db level:Is there a way to also have the same functionality on HANA tenant/db level?
HiI found the previous conversation related to the same topic “ Change display name with CLI without modifying the client name” Using the XML <App_SetClientPropertiesRequest> <association> <entity> <clientName></clientName> </entity> </association> <clientProperties> <client> <clientEntity> <clientName></clientName> <displayName></displayName> </clientEntity> </client> </clientProperties> </App_SetClientPropertiesRequest> Command:qoperation execute -af update_client_name_template.xml -entity/clientName $client -client/clientEntity/displayname $new_displayName updateNameChangeOnlyInDBOnFailure=1 We have clients registered with short name, I want the clients display name to be updated with FQDN without changing the short client names. I tried the above XML and command and found the error. Could someone help with pointing correct information. Error [root@xxxxx Base]# ./qoperation ex
Hi all, I have reviewed 2 environments showing the same inconsistency, FR24 and FR28/2022E (On screenshots)On a storage policy that has a snap and a primary copy where encryption is used the following is seen:Java GUI > Properties on primary copy > Shows encrypted (Taken over from GDDB, as expected)What I expect to see in command center, when I review my backup copy job > Encryption Enabled: Yes, as we can see in the java GUI.What it actually shows:Encryption enabled: Unavailable When reviewing the snap job (Which does not use dedupe, and we do not encrypt it)In the command center it shows: Encryption enabled: YesIn java GUI it shows: Encryption enabled: No (As expected, because we do not encrypt the snaps) Is this somehow expected behavior, or should we raise a case to dig into this more?
In CommCell Console, in the control panel, in the Data part, when selecting Replication, the option “Enable chaining for Windows continuous data replicator agents” appears. Does anyone have more information about this action and what happens if I disable it? Than you.
Good day allI guess this question is two-fold and I’ve not really been able to find a way this can be done using a Plan. We’re running SQL Plans that backup the DB’s in the traditional Full/Diff/TLOG format. We have 1 SQL instance that mustn’t have it’s TLOGS backed up. My assumption is that it would need to go into it’s own Plan with TLOG slider switched off?The second portion to this same instance is that the backups of the various DB’s don’t happen at the same time due to their size?Is it possible to configure an instance that a DB will not start backing up until the prior one is complete and they keep cascading in this manner.I understand you could create multiple sub-clients within each instance and assign different schedules. However, this would potentially mean that if a DB finishes sooner than the next one is scheduled to start, there’s an unused portion of the backup window. Conversely if one schedule overruns into the next, then we have 2 jobs running which we’re trying to avoi
Hello! Our auditors use reports from Commvault to verify incidents in our incident system. Mainly they have been using PDF reports. As of late we discovered some discrapancies in the reports. First it seems the number of pages created for a pdf differs even though the time frame is the same. We also discovered some naming and columns was changed in the reports. I think that both can be explained by that one: the PDF creator program might render the pages diffrently, Second: the naming and column change problaby was due to service pack upgrade.I also discoverd that the number of protected object wasnt consistent in one of the reports, I had run it 3 times for verification. All other counters seems to be accurate. How can this be? The reports should be the same if all selection criteria are the same?Anyone else experienced this? Headings of the reports below.BR Henke

Hello, We need to use the chargeback details report, but we also need to create alerts that report.Within the chargeback details report, we can configure alerts per server (within the chargeback details window). But how can we create alerts onthe “chargeback summary”? (for example on total media size). note: no, we cannot use the standard chargeback report for that, as that on a private metric server, and not accessible by endusers.
Good day all I just want to get some thoughts for those who use a storage target which has it’s own option for encryption.I’m setting up a new environment which will use VAST storage as a backup target. I will be enabling encryption and ransomware protection on the Commvault side. Would it be recommended to also enable encryption on the storage level using VAST’s encryption?Logically it wouldn’t make sense to encrypt encrypted data, but I want to check if anyone has any thoughts on this? Thanks,Mauro
I am deleting a number of Storage Policy Copies and have noticed that Big Data Apps Index backups do not age like other backups. I have manually copied these backups to long term storage and run data aging expecting the backup to disappear from my short term retention policy. It seems as though these backups do not recognise when there are multiple copies. do I need to manually delete the extra copies?

Hello Is it possible to get an alert when the automatic SQL instance discovery discovers a new SQL instance?I would like to get some sort of alert of when this happens to insure that no new instances go unnoticed and unconfigured. If it is possible how do you set it up?
Hi I have just upgraded an Commvault to 11.26.40, and I notice that there was two schedules for “System created index cache load balacing” And when I am trying to delete the double schedule, I am getting this error: How can I delete this schedule? Hi Team,Customer has asked me about Azure Stack HCI backup recommended volume size. He sent me a link to MS docshttps://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure-stack/hci/concepts/plan-volumes Customer is concerned about planning for volume sizes of VMs i.e. 2x10TB vs 1x20TB vm disk.So the question that remains is: does Commvault use Hyper-V RCT API and/or ReFS block cloning? Can I advice customer to go over 10TB vm disk without hurting performance?
