Hi, we’d like to use some MediaAgents with Linux in the near future. The system requirements page from CommVault lists Ubuntu 20.04 as the latest supported version. Is there any piece of information if and when Ubuntu 22.04 will be supported?

https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/expert/2822_mediaagent_system_requirements.html

Thanks,
Janko

Hi @Jankete ,

22.04 was only released in April 2022. Usually CV would take 6+ months to qualify a new OS release and update support documentation in case changes in new OS release have negative impact.

For the most part generally there isn’t any major issues however depending on the OS release features, sometimes new features does result in issues with Commvault, so it takes some significant time for full certification.

With CV release cycle now being 6 months too for feature releases, you’re probably looking at December 2022 before full support will be added.

any news on that topic?

Any news? We need to use Ubuntu 22.04 for the MA role as Dell R760xd2 (our MA hardware) does not support 20.04.

I checked the 2023E system requirements and it still doesn’t list 22.04 as compatible, but the page also hasn’t been updated in over a year.
