Re-Installation issue - macOS Mojave 10.14.6

Hi Everyone!

A colleague (Who already had commvault installed) needed to re-install macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and used a “Time Machine” to restore his Laptop completely. -We do not use Commvault for making a full image of ours Laptops but just for User’s folders-

This colleague tried to re-install commvault and he always get the following error over terminal:

MacBook-Pro:Unix ironman$ sudo ./cvpkgadd
Using update installer /Users/ironman/.gxsetup/cvpkgadd/newinstall:v1182333
Error in checksums: 112590792 is different from 2761742995

 

Commvault still have all his backed up files and we are wondering if there is a way to just re-install commvault in his MacBook without losing\deleting any of his data.

Any ideas or suggestion?

The error seems to be checksum error on package used to install.

Could the user try downloading the package again and rerun the installer

Hi @Gowri Shankar!

I forgot to mention that we shared the installer folder located in our commvault (..\Commvault\ContentStore\SW\CVMedia\11.0.0), so that users can mount it in their laptops and install it without downloading anything in their laptops.

There are other colleagues who recently installed it in their MacBooks and without any issues.

Should we re-download the installer-packages at the commvault  server and try again?
Should ask this colleague to copy the installer folder in his Laptop and try it again ?

Hi @Cronos 

 

Please copy the installer to local directory, set at least 775 permission on the folder

rerun the installer, if it still fails then try downloading the installer.

Sorry for the late reply, last week I was not available.
we tried your suggestions and it did not work. Our colleague stills gets:
