Hello

We are testing to perform Baremetal Restore. We are trying to restore a virtual machine in the VMWARE environment.

I’m following this documentation: https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=18949.htm

However, after boot the ISO the boot hangs.

As the Imagem Below. Restore does not evolve.

What needs to be done?

Hi @Carlos Moreira,

The screenshot doesn't tell us much other than that it is hanging during the processing of the startup of the WinPE boot image. So can you share some info with us like:

  • The Commvault version (FR+MR) you are running.
  • The VMware version you are running.
  • At what stage it hangs corresponding to the documentation.
  • If there is any network topology in place?
  • Any blocking devices between the VM and the CommServe?
  • If DNS resolving is working as expected?
  • What have you tried yourself already?

Right now it's too much of guessing, so please give us more information.

Doesn't startnet.cmd perform an initial load the network drivers? Not sure..

What type of network card is configured on the VM running the WinPE ISO?
Just to check, have you manually inserted drivers in the ISO?

hello @Jos Meijer

In Responde to your question.

Just to check, have you manually inserted drivers in the ISO?

R - I didn’t add. I used the ISO that the Commvault Store provides.
