Hi Community,

I’m trying to deploy the CIS pre-hardened ova image and i can’t login on windows.

i have deployed three times the .ova and respect the password complexity rules.

it doesn’t work.

I see older topics but it seems that it’s not fixed.

Please advice

@ChrisCC That’s the problem. I’m quite sure your laptop is not able to provide 16 cores and 24 GB RAM.
The prep script on the first VM boot will fail and it will never run again.
First you have to open the ova file with a zipper and edit the vm config file.

Hi Ralph,

thank for your feedback

My laptop have 128Gb and a 16 core intel i9 cpu. it would be ok.

i try to modify the .ovf file with less memory and cpu.

it’s the same, i can’t login. i’m using the commvault user account. (i have test with administrator but idem).

@ChrisCC When you deploy the ova it will boot immediately after the deployment.
Starts the VM without any failiures?
During the deployment it should ask you to set up your own password.

Hello Ralph,

My installation’s tries with hardened ova image goes wrong. So i have done a fresh windows installation and use the cis benchmark kit and manually harden my VM.
