Direct connection to CS is required to complete the HSX setup behind a firewall or can we using cascade proxys to complete the setup to register with the CommServe?

The HyperScale nodes and the CommServe are separated by a firewall, the only way that we want to communicate is through proxys gateway.

Is it possible to complete the hyperscale setup without a direct connection and using a network topology for cascade proxys ?

We proceeded with ./ as suggested on, but this failed with a timeout to CS.

Hello @Chris_L

Thanks for the great question. I do not think there is any difference when setting up the route and if your environment is One-way, Tow way or Via Proxy.

Step 2 of the following goes over how to setup the network for HS clients.

  1. Configure a one-way network route between the CommServe and the HyperScale client using a predefined network topology.

Please advise if this answers your questions.

Kind regards

Hi Albert,

I already did theses step before using the “

I can confirm is not work like one way or 2 way direction, the hyperscale nodes are not able to do the communication through the proxys to initiate the communication with the Commserve for the registration.

After talking with a Commvault engineer, it’s seems not really supported or that need dev team.

So it’s good to know,
