Is there a way to prevent these automatic updates to the Media Agents from running?Version 11.2801.22 breaks VMware backups and I have to keep manually reverting to 11.2801.11. Very frustrating!

Hi everyone,I’m looking to setup SAML for a customer using Azure AD as the identity provider.I’ve set it up in my lab (Metallic Subscription plus Azure AD), the default mapping of users works to a role that’s specified General Tab of the Identity Server.  Is there a way to have Azure AD detect the group membership and apply it to a Metallic User Group? I’ve Tested based on what I understand the documentation to be, but I’m probably missing something fairly fundamental.  Do I have to set a custom SAML attribute to map the groups through or is there another way?Thanks in advance.

i can see only incremental and log backup for server plan , we have requirement to keep weekly monthly to different retetion , i created custom plan where daily incremental is set and i have removed log backup schedule , when i tried to add anthoer schedule i dont find option as synthetic full , and if i click full its select database agent   

Hello, everyone.I need your support.For the past week the "Metallic" backup when doing a Syntethic Full gives this error: "Index server is disabled on the Media agent [service_2019].Source: cms01102c1eu06, Process: StartSynthFull". I restarted the MediaAgent "service_2019" but the problem is still there.I ask for your help, how can I solve it?Thank youCarmine

We have been waiting 6 months for a demo of Metallic Cloud Storage to test cloud second copy from our on-prem Commvault. Is this something Metallic does not do?Do I have to just buy a small amount of space, month to month, in order to test your product?All I get from sales is “I’ll follow up with the team on this”.We just want to verify how it works before buying 100 TB of Metallic Cloud Storage Service - Commvault

My CommVault Metallic cloud storage hit 100% full.  I’ve deleted several months worth of backups and have run the data aging process multiple times but it still reports as 100% full.  What’s the trick to freeing up space on Metallic cloud storage?Ken

Hi everyone,I'm seeking clarification regarding the Auto Discovery features available in Commvault's Metallic environment.Specifically: What types of resources can be automatically discovered? For instance, is it possible to configure auto discovery for specific services like Amazon RDS? Can I configure global auto discovery across all resources in specific accounts? Is it feasible to filter discovered resources using tags?

Hello,I wanted to share feedback about recent reporting change called “New Self-Service Report Option: Provides simple report selection options that allow admins to subscribe to reports of interest.” Actually, it’s not an option, it forced all the user to use predefined report’s only where most basic “backup job summary report” is completely gone. Reports are totally out of control now and existing ones are non-editable.  Can you revert that change or at least make it truly optional?

Hi All, i have created an azure app , and followed the prcedures from metallic document for the saml integration , i have added one group in the azure app , and tested , it doesnt work, i have added a user in the azure app and created same user in the metallic as external user it worked , what is the procedure to add a external group of azure ad to metallic i have tried to add a local group of same name of azure ad group, but i dont find any option to add role and permission for that group as tenant user or adminall i can see a associated entities , where i get to add certail roles , can someone clarify the exact steps to follow 

Hello Metallic Community,I am currently researching a comprehensive data protection solution for our Azure VMware Solution (AVS) environment. While evaluating different backup solutions, Metallic caught my attention due to its cloud-based nature, potentially offering a seamless integration with our mostly cloud-based components.However, in the course of my research, I found information suggesting that AVS primarily supports the hotadd transport mode for data protection. Given this, I'm trying to understand if it's mandatory to have a proxy within the AVS environment to perform backups.To provide some context, I'm considering setting up our backup server (potentially Azure MABS or Metallic Backup Gateway /Metallic MA) within a dedicated VNet. This setup aims to isolate our internet-facing devices in a separate VNet. The plan is to establish connectivity to AVS via ExpressRoute, allowing our backup solution to interact with the AVS vCenter,  take snapshots, transf

My exchange backups are running long again like they did when I first started backing up. My backup health is at 76%.Does anyone know why this would happen?

Is there support for migrating backups from Commvault to Metallic BAAS?We started using Commvault 3 years ago.  Now Metallic BAAS looks like a better fit for us. Our preference (if we switch) would be to not keep the Commvault for just those 3 years of backups.We would like, if possible, to import those backups into Metallic BAAS. I know if we changed to a different brand, this would not be an option, but since both are Commvault based, I figure I would ask.

  I have been tasked with backing up our OS drive on our on premises Metallic Gateway. We need to include the servers Window’s System State as part of the backups. I have looked in our File Server list in metallic, and I do not see the gateway listed. I know the server has the File System agent already installed on it from when Metallic was originally installed. Is It considered a best practice to back up the gateway’s OS drive. I should note the the gateway is also a cache server for local backups, and we do not want to backup the deduped data volumes. If backing up the OS drive of the Metallic Gateway is not recommended,  what is the general process for rebuilding the OS drive on that server?

When selecting system to restore the overview is bypassed and displays the content.  I will have to select the time range from the content page.  This only happens on 1 system from what i can tell so far.

Here is a problem we are having with media agents at one location.  We are seeing backups and restores with wildly different performance for any gateway installed on a Nutanix cluster.  An adjacent older VMware cluster has no problems.  The two clusters share the same 1G Internet pipe at a colo.  We have another Nutanix cluster at a different location that has pretty decent performance consistently.  We cannot find any one thing that might explain the behavior, and the poor and inconsistent performance makes managing the platform very difficult at that site.  We would like to understand why the gateway running on the older cluster (HPE servers and EMC storage) which runs on 1G interconnects, is orders of magnitude faster than some of the gateways running the new Nutanix cluster (HPE DX-380’s) with 10G interconnects.  Running ordinary uploads and downloads on any of the Nutanix-hosted gateways is fast, as expected.  So, it doesn’t seem to be Internet, or hardware

Hi,I’m currently trying Metallic and I would like to be able to let our MSP to do full managed services for us. That said, we would like to be able to insure the MSP admin are unable to access the data. I saw the option “Prevent admin access to company data” but we were more envisioning the use of an encryption key. In the company settings, there is that section called “Allow owners to enable data encryption” which may be aligned with what we would like but I can’t find any information on it. I activated it but I don’t see any change anywhere in the other section like plan or servers so I have no clue what it does and how to use it.I also saw in the security/key management servers that we can configure a KMS or a passphrase which, once set, is not visible anymore. I tried to activate the passphrase which seems to work but I don’t think that would deny the MSP admin to access our data. I think it kind of just replace the automatically generated encryption key by the pas
