It says my credentials are incorrect when my jobs run even though I can use them to log into VMware vCenter. How can I troubleshoot this?

I have a machine that started getting backup failures with this error “Error downloading Virtual Machine config file”.  Just started a week ago, prior to that backups were successful.What could be causing that problem.  The server is in Azure VMWare Solutions and being backed up using Metallic.

My CommVault Metallic cloud storage hit 100% full.  I’ve deleted several months worth of backups and have run the data aging process multiple times but it still reports as 100% full.  What’s the trick to freeing up space on Metallic cloud storage?Ken

Hi everyone,I’m looking to setup SAML for a customer using Azure AD as the identity provider.I’ve set it up in my lab (Metallic Subscription plus Azure AD), the default mapping of users works to a role that’s specified General Tab of the Identity Server.  Is there a way to have Azure AD detect the group membership and apply it to a Metallic User Group? I’ve Tested based on what I understand the documentation to be, but I’m probably missing something fairly fundamental.  Do I have to set a custom SAML attribute to map the groups through or is there another way?Thanks in advance.

What is Difference between "remove from content " & exclude from backup"  in Metallic backup for exchange online?If i exclude a user/ user group from backup and reinclude it , will it cause next backup to be full?

My organization is considering enabling the Delete and Restore Authorization features in Security IQ. This will constitute a big change in our restore process because of how rapid our customers tend to want their restores completed, and requiring secondary authorization will slow down our process quite a bit, especially in the case that those authorized are either on PTO or otherwise unable to approve restores. I was wondering what methods the community uses to prevent slower service when it comes to restores that require secondary authorization? I’d like to hear how other organizations might prevent slow/loss of service when needing multiple users to be online in order to perform restore requests so maybe we can improve our process.

Hi,I’m currently trying Metallic and I would like to be able to let our MSP to do full managed services for us. That said, we would like to be able to insure the MSP admin are unable to access the data. I saw the option “Prevent admin access to company data” but we were more envisioning the use of an encryption key. In the company settings, there is that section called “Allow owners to enable data encryption” which may be aligned with what we would like but I can’t find any information on it. I activated it but I don’t see any change anywhere in the other section like plan or servers so I have no clue what it does and how to use it.I also saw in the security/key management servers that we can configure a KMS or a passphrase which, once set, is not visible anymore. I tried to activate the passphrase which seems to work but I don’t think that would deny the MSP admin to access our data. Hi,relative to Delete authorization / Restore authorization  in Metallic Security IQ.Will this process work if there is only one user/administrator ie. a single client?In the remarks it says: “When this setting is enabled, restore requests will require approval from another administrator, providing extra privacy protection. Hi everyone, We would like to know on detail if it’s possible to assign a custom Schedule (or Job Start Time) for O365 Backups on Exchange, SPO, OneDrive and MSTeams Backup Jobs using Metallic for O365.As per documentation says on Exchange Online App we understand that is not possible (even on the option of Job Start Time appears).The documentation says the following for Exchange Online“Backups run according to the schedule and settings that are specified in the server plan, which the Metallic software automatically assigns to the each Office 365 app based on the region.Backups run automatically every 8 hours. If a backup is already running, then the 8-hour-interval backup is skipped. The 8-hour intervals ensure complete protection for your data if the data size is smaller because of incremental backups.”

HiWe are going to purchase endpoint backup solution from metallic, we want to know how to configured backup policies and define backup storage, this is installation and configuration from scratch. Is there any document to configure Metallica tenant, endpoint backup policies etc.Thanks

While evaluating different backup solutions, Metallic caught my attention due to its cloud-based nature, potentially offering a seamless integration with our mostly cloud-based components.However, in the course of my research, I found information suggesting that AVS primarily supports the hotadd transport mode for data protection. Given this, I'm trying to understand if it's mandatory to have a proxy within the AVS environment to perform backups.To provide some context, I'm considering setting up our backup server (potentially Azure MABS or Metallic Backup Gateway /Metallic MA) within a dedicated VNet. This setup aims to isolate our internet-facing devices in a separate VNet. Hi all newbie here. just a quick question please,  While trying to restore a Azure vm in Metallic to Azure out of place, I get an error failed to create the container for Virtual disks under the storage account.  Should i speak with our Cloud people about this first before troubling Commvault. as i may not be choosing the correct storage account.   Regards  Tony 

I see in the docs that Metallic VM backup supports Hyper-V hosts and Hyper-V clusters.But I have not found in the docs how to set up a cluster. Ex.Do I load the Proxy on all nodes, and Metallic figures out which node to use for which VM? We are planning a demo, so there is no trial and error and previous knowledge of Metallic VM setup.(We are using the Office365 backups only at this point)
