Hello everyone,We still have a few public folders running on Exchange on prem and we recently upgraded from Exchange 2013 to 2019. I’ve tried to configure backup but am getting:No service account(s) found for public folder processing. Please assure that a service account is assigned a malibox association with owner permissions on the root and subroot public folders in order to proceed with public folder operations.This looks to be an Exchange issue. Is there documentation anywhere that shows the steps to configure Exchange?ThanksKen
Hi Commvault Experts, I have been trying to find documentation on adding a new network (vlan network) on the Data Protection Network on the Hyperscale X based on Reference Architecture.The Hyperscale is already deployed with topology of tagged vlans and LACP.These are new servers that we need to backup, however on a new vlan.Please guide on what are the steps that need to be followed.RegardsDaryl

There is a new physical tape library configured in this environment (HPE MSL G3 2024) with 2 tape HPE Ultrium 8-SCSI FC drives. The tape library was added in Commvault and few auxiliary copy jobs performed:1. With the hardware compression disabled in Commvault storage policy copy data path configuration. The size of data on the first tapes was 10 TB.2. With the hardware compression enabledin Commvault storage policy copy data path configuration. The size of data on each tapes was 20-21 TB.The backup data type is VMware backups.Our question is why Commvault is not placing more than 30 TB on each tape, considering they are LTO8 and hardware compression is enabled? This customer has another Commvault environment , with similar backup devices and same settings, they are able to accommodate between 30 -40 TB.

You may see errors similar to:"Not allowed to access Non IPM folder"Or you notice that the CVMailBackup.exe process crashes on the access nodes.My early understanding of this issue is that we have released an updated MR for the versions below that may resolve this. SP28: Install 11.28.111 or higher SP32: Install 11.32.48 or higher SP34: Install 11.34.20 or higher I have had one customer update to this on their access nodes and are not currently seeing any errors.
We’re setting up a new Alma 9 file server that we plan to have 4x 60TB volumes, and then use the Linux LVM to stripe them (sort of like this).We are into the half-billion inode count now, so we know that the File Agent without using block level backups would be untenable as the incremental scan time phase alone on the previous file server would reach 13-15 hours before even beginning the backup phase.However, I am having difficulty finding documentation on commvault’s pages confirming or denying whether volumes striped in this way is supported for block-level backups (we know that the File Agent without doing block level backups works fine as we are already using striped volumes on our previous file server).Can anyone confirm or deny or provide a link to the documentation where it states one way or another?

Hello, Our security team has found a vulnerability in Python36. Now I saw that 38 and 39 are also on the CommServe. My question now is how can I clean this up? In the overview of the programs installed in Windows, I don't see anything from Python because it was delivered with Commvault. To solve the problem I would have to get rid of Python36 but I would like to simply delete the folder without consulting here.Is anyone able to help me ?RegardsThomas

Upgraded to Commvault version 11.34.5. We are running intellisnap backups and AppAware for SQL Since the update SQL AppAware backups do not work the default way for this version, App Consistent. The manifest.zip file that is sent to Commvault from vmware doesn’t contain the xml files needed, Writer.xml. Per Commvautl/VMware this failure is happening on the VM client OS side of things. Has any experienced this issue? Thank you
So, I’ve got a ticket in for this, but have only recieved remedial solutions. Basically, when we back up the dedupe database, its snapshot appears to be happening ok, but it’s missing files, as in they’re simply not there (see below). It’ll take days of downtime (hundreds of servers not backed up) if we simply need to rebuild this. Could this be a corrupt DDB? Anyone else seen this issue? ERROR CODE [6:43]: Backup failed: unable to open or read a file. Configured to fail on any error. Please check the following: 1. The account that the File System agent uses has sufficient privileges to back up files. 2. The data being backed up can be accessed and is not on a path that is unmounted or is inaccessible. 3. A third-party product is not locking the files. 4. There is no corruption of the data on the disk. 5. Hi Community,our customer has upgraded the CommVault Environment from Version 11.28.102 to 11.32.45.Since the upgrade we have Issues with AUXCopies and the VMware VSA backups.We have this Issues with our 4 physical Media agents (Windows 2019) at the head office.The following errors occur sporadically on different DDBs and MediaAgents The following app crash events occur in the Windows log on all 4 MediaAgents I have already carried out a CommVault Instance Repair on all 4 media agents, but unfortunately this has not solved the problem.A CommVault Case was created. Support suspects a Windows OS issue. But I can't believe that all 4 MediaAgents have an OS problem.A "check readiness" on the MAs shows no problemsHas anyone had similar problems after upgrading CommVault to version 11.32.45?best regards,Andreas

The evening of Friday April 6, I upgraded my CommVault installation from 11.32.38 to 11.34.20. Following the upgrade (which required reboots of almost all the client computers), the Friday evening backups seems to be running normally. When I returned to work on Monday morning I have roughly 300 Alert emails regarding “unusual job activity” on various servers. Weirdly, some of the alerts say zero files have been changed:Anomaly NotificationAn unusual job activity was detected in Job [751258], type [Root Size Change]. Details: Unusual number of file operations in client [INF-SQLP104] - created files: [0], deleted files: [0], modified files: [0], root size change of [0.00] GBDoes anyone know what the problem is and how to stop all this spam? I have a situation here, after migration from 11.28.72 to 11.32.45, VM which were added using VM rules using VM tags appeared in different subclient of a Vcenter virtual server and it is impacting SLA since now the VM tag issue is resolved and backup in running under one subclient. Now i need to disable backup activity for the client for other subclient except the original subclientcurrently the VM is appearing in only ine subclient of the vcenter virtual server which is JPAWP, and the VM is not available or not showing under any other subclient. But when we check individual VM , it shows multiple backupset/subclient and it is impacting the SLA. Now i need to disable the backup activity for the VM, for specifc backupset/subclient. Do not disable backup activity on client level because the VM is curently backing up in its original subclient.Now i need to disable backup activity for the VM for all the subclient except the orignal subclient which is JPAWP here.I am creating workflow to ac
