Hello All, We are configuring a new cloud based storage, and concerning that, we wanted to know if the CommServe has to have access to the cloud library ? Since the storage and the MA will have a private network in which the storage will present its buckets to the MA. and the CommServe with the MA will communicate through our backup network.In the configuration steps, we came through : So we wondered if that means that the CS has to have some sort of access to the storage (Which is not the case in our platform, since the storage is only seen by the MA through their private network), or it's just the information related to the MA accessing the storage ? Hi all,I’m looking to configure Disaster Recovery for VMware. The documentation and the configuration is quite clear. I am perplexed by the configuration of the VM network, in particular the mapping of the source network to the destination network.When I configure the recovery target (destination vCenter) it’s possible to configure only one target network, instead of having the possiblity to configure a complete mapping of all existing networks.The only way I found to configure the network mapping is to do it VM for VM, network adapter for network adapter, making the configuration impossible if in front of hundreds/thousands of VM.Is there any way to configure it globally? Are there any possibility to implement this functionallity in the future releases? ThanksFabrizio

Hi, I have a case where customer is preventing user access using IMAP/POP to Google mail. Since Commvault is using IMAP to download e-mails it cannot work unless customer will enable IMAP access. There is a way in Google to do this selectively, specifically it can be narrowed to Oauth client IDs. I’m not sure if Commvault cloud app client uses Oauth at all, but I kind of wish for it.So my question is this: does Commvault cloud app client have any Oauth ID which a customer may use to restrict IMAP access for Commvault only? If so, where can it be found?
For the most part, we use VMware… in our 2 Data Centers We have Remote Branch Offices (17), that will be getting new Physical Servers, that will run M$ Hyper-V on them. We will have 2 Virtual Servers under each Hyper -V Server. One of the VM’s will be running Servers roles (DFS, SCCM distro points, and DHCP). The other will be for File storage (user and Groups files).From the CommServe Console, I have installed the CV Client on the Physical server.Looking for High level planning on how to back up this Model….Do I install the CV Client on the VM’s too?

Hi, I have a selective copy that backup a week's data on a tape. This tape i export every friday offsite.This week i I did not have more scratch and if i check media not copied on a selective copy i see more data.Now have scratch tape, and if i check jobs faile for storage policy there are more on status: not selected.how do i relaunch those jobs? if i search on job history same jobs id, there are on status completed because not saved only selective copy

I'm trying to assemble a list, for customer billing based on companies, of unique client object who are protected by all forms of protection methods. So think of application-level, file-system-level and VM-level and all within the scope of a company. So I though this would be an easy walk in the park by enumerating views:Lic_CUR_ProtectedVMs_vw - to retrieve a list of VMs who are protected on VM-level Lic_CUR_VOIs_vw - to retrieve a list of VM's who are protected using an agent.I would then make sure to filter out the duplicatie objects (I will have to do some filtering machine as I'm already noticing duplicate client computer with an _ in their names) and to remove the clients from the output of Lic_CUR_VOIs_vw who exist in the output of Lic_CUR_ProtectedVMs_vw because I want to make sure we capture all VMs running on an on-premise cloud platform which doesn't support VM-level protection.Now I'm running into an issue in where the output of Lic_CUR_VOIs_vw is not showing clients who I
Unfortunately due to the way we work some of our colleagues only connect laptops to VPN for a few hours each week at random times. I’ve found many of our laptops with corrupted Commvault agent installations, which I am trying to repair using SCCM. I have tried deploying a job from the Commcell to uninstall or repair, but I’ve not had any luck getting that to connect with these laptops so falling back on SCCM. The best way I can think of resolving these issues, is to use “setup.exe /uninstall /silent” and then once uninstalled deploy the software again. This is working to remote the software from the laptops I am testing on, but it is not working to retire the laptop in the Commcell/Commserve as the colleagues don’t have permissions on Commcell. Is there a way to embed credentials into an XML and reference that in the uninstall?
When using “activate”, you can add an inventory. Within that inventory I can add ‘file server’ and ‘name server’ asset. I have some "NAS/network shares" with different backup types (network share CIFS/NFS or NDMP).The backup copies for shares using FileSystem Agent via "Network Share" can use 3DFS and those using NDMP once cannot use 3DFS. Unfortunately, I have a requirement/need to be able to use 3DFS. How can I share backups of NDMP NAS shares via 3DFS? Am I missing something, is there a setting or do I have to live with it?
v11.22.57 has reached end of life. I’m looking for some help on where to go from here. Here is the response from CV support:“We have version 11.24 which is a long-term feature Release and the latest 11.26 which is a short-term feature release.”I took a look at the newsletter for new features and they both have some good stuff. I’m wondering if anyone has any good or bad experience from upgrading from 11.22.57 to 11.24 or 11.26?Thanks
I added a file server as described and the control host that currently hosts the file server. Due to a malfunction, however, the file server was moved to the other control host shortly afterwards. This caused problems with the backup. Hi, I normally back up my oracle instances, a full weekly and incremental the other days. All backup jobs are successful, but I don't understand why I don't see any available backups in the recovery point calendar. Can you help me understand what the problem is? ThksDario
