Hello dears, i have an issue but i actually dont know is it related to commvault or the mongo vendor or a cluster configuration issue . we have a mongo cluster with a replica set configured.we are performing backups successfully without any issues. we are trying to restore the mongo db to a different cluster with same configuration as production,so i have performed out of place restore multiple times with these configuration:picked the destination cluster and checked the automatic restore. picked the destination cluster and checked the automatic restore and changed the replicaset name to the destination cluster . restored files only all above scenarios succeeded but with the below error Data files have been successfully restored. But, all the mongodb servers could not be started with the restored data. when we check the cluster after restore we see that the db is trying to connect to the prod servers not the destination servers. is this the normal behaviour and the mongo admins shou

When Snap Backup starts, if fails after 40 seconds with the error:“91:44 Error getting datastore list for snap. Possible reason includes virtual machine spread across multiple datastores with multiple vendors.”and also“91:488 Unknown error [0] reported from VMInfo for [xxxxxxxxxxxx]. [Unknown VMInfo error [0]]”I only have 1 datastore so all VMs are on it. I already raised a case with CommVault support and the only solution they provided is to reboot the ESXi host. This is a workaround, not a permanent solution. After the ESXi reboot Snap backup start working again.Today I have again the issue, and this time I cannot restart the host so easily.. Hi all, At a customer, we are using Combined Storage Tiers:CV 11.28 AWS Deep Glacier / Standard-Infrequent Access We have a few questions on this:When we do a restore, the Recall workflow kicks in. We see that it initiates the Recall and then waits for 13 hours before checking the Recall Success. Why is it only checking after 13 hours? The data might be available sooner, so it would make sense checking earlier. Which Recall type is used by default (with CV 11.28), is it Standard or Bulk? Thanks in advance!
Has Commvault addressed how to handle backups for VM’s that have been failed over Via SRM to a Recovery site? I know Commvault has livesync and that may be 1. answer but if the business wants to standardize on SRM someone needs to address backups at the DR site.
We relatively often restore older versions of files to users. In the thick java client you can chose to sett a suffix option on the filename when restoring, to not overwrite existing files, and to make them easy recognizable. We can not find this option in the webconsole. (Command Center). Is this a feature planed to be implemented, or is there a simple solution to ad a suffix?The suffix is very useful when you restore larger amount of files to distinguish them from existing files.

I have a backup request to backup a new file share location (a file share) that handles image files (not sure of type or format). Currently the size is about 500 GB (number of files is unknown at this time), but there is some talk of it becoming larger to possibly > 10 TB (or ultimately “many new files being constantly moved in and out of this folder at regular times” vs total size of the folder). We are backing up a lot more than this of “unique data” across the systems so 10-20 TB is not a huge amount of “new unique data” being backed up, but its enough to make me reconsider just adding it without some thought.Currently all of my backup storage policies use DDB’s (we have a few). I did not set any of the storage policies we have up, just inherited it all.If I used our ‘standard” storage policy for our file shares (that all use DDB’s), would the (possible) size of > 10 TB of image files blow up my DDB’s or cause some unintended consequences to the DDB (as the data will likely n
Hey,we updated from 11.28 to 11.32.38.We have Monitoring Check for “Backup Copy” Jobs, and after the update to 11.32 not working, because via REST API Endpoint the “Backup Copy” Jobs are not shown anymore.Endpoint: https://<serverURL>/webconsole/api/Job?clientId=62On 11.28 the “Backup Copy” Jobs were show beside all other Jobs for the Client, but on 11.32.38 it is not shown anymore.On this Forum Topic:, it was discussed for 11.28 as an issue and could be workaround by adding:&hideAdminJobs=false to the APi Call, but this doesnt help in 11.32→ no Backup Copy Jobs are shown.Can this be checked internally with Dev Team if there were a change or maybe known issue?Thx & Best RegardsMarcel

We require 1 million objects to be ingested from MS SQL into our cloud storage via Commvault. We created a table with 5 million rows of data in MS SQL but when we perform full backup from Commvault we could only see 20 objects being ingested. Hi, I backup Databases hosted on a Microsoft CLuster I created the Microsoft pseudo client and add a SQL instance on it. I also backup each Microsoft node through the filesystem agent.I have enabled System state on each node.The default subclient backup only the C and local drives.I created another subclient on each node, but I can specify the disks presented by storage only on the active node. What is the correct way to backup the remote disks present on the Active node.Those disks are presented by a Storage and have their letters R,S,TIf a failover occurs, those disk are owned by the remaining node. I tried to add a subclient at FIle System agent on the cluster it self, but it backups only the quorum disk and it gaves an error message. Thanks for your help !

We want to be able to restore all the data that we have archived for a customer back to the same server. They have archiving setup in both FS and a NAS location. They want to decommission archiving I can trigger a restore from the most recent synthetic fulll archive and restore all the data back to production servers; however just wanted to make sure it would completely replace all the stubs that were ever created on the source server. I was reading through the documentation as as I understand the retention of the stubbed data only works on copies at the moment the storage policy sends data to local ma and one aux copy to another location and third one to tape; so hopefully the SP retention policy wont apply to the local MediaAgent.“ Retention is only considered for copies that contain the job. Hi,My client changed the port number of his SQL instance to a specific number. His reason was to hide the instance for security purposes. However, it caused Commvault failed to backup that SQL database. with the error “Failed to validate the credentials for instance...”The client told me that everything that needs to point to that instance has to has the instance name like this SQLDB01,port-number\DB01 I wonder, what could I do in Commvault to back up this SQL database?Thank you.
