HelloMy VSA proxy server has issues communication with the media agent. cvping works, and also test-netconnection. The media agent has 2 NIC, admin and backup. Admin network is not reachable for the VSA proxy. Hi,I have so far replaced three drives in our DELL/EMC ML3 Tape Lib and still experiencing the same problem. Currently, there’s one valid drive that is working fine - when it comes to the other one, it is mounted and immediately unmounted after a couple of seconds - one try after another in an endless loop.According to DELL, there’s nothing in the library log that would indicate the root of the problem (the log is clean) - they send me another drive and then the case is closed until the issue rises again.I tried swapping the drives in slots but the problem is following the same drive no matter the slot. At this point, I’d like to exclude software-related cause of the issue.Currently, the number of errors associated with mounting and unmounting the drive is way over its threshold; that might be the reason why CV is ignoring the drive completely - how can I reset the counter? Hi all.At times we get the below error when something have happened to the Archive log files. Description: PostgreSQL Database: The Data backup has failed. Archive Log files are missing preventing this job from completing on Instance [XXX] Client [XXX]. Please run a FULL backup. It would be beneficial if the job could automatically convert to a full, instead of killing the job manually, and then start a full. Do anybody know if this is possible? Regards-Anders

Hello, I have some issue with restoring sql DB to another VM, the issue is that it take to long sometimes almost 1 day for 2.9TB. The sql back used 4 stream and using 5 streams for restore. Hier are some logs for the restore which still running Any idee why its taking so long?
Does Commvault support or plan to add support for Multi-Streaming during Full VM Restore in VMware?For example, a VM with 4 ‘vmdk’ files can use 4 streams during restoration.We are running ver 11.24 and see that a single stream is used during the restore which slows restores down, especially for larger VMs.We could of course use Live VM recovery but that does not help if the VM is running any resource-heavy app.
Hello, I am looking for the best solution for immutable copy of data built on Commvault in Azure. We have some configuration, but I would like to see what Commvault Community can propose. I am looking for few approaches: First copy of data is in local. Azure copy is working as DR site. Dedicated storage for Immutable in Azure per site (locally). First copy of data is in local. Shared storage for Immutable in Azure per site (locally).In that both approach I would like to know about the cost and how to estimate decrease usage storage between dedicated - shared storage ? What will be the best storage configuration for that solution Deduplicated or Not-deduplicated? Retention for Immutable is 14 days and 2 cycles. Storage usage for Immutable solution (Hot or Cool)?And I think the most important how to calculate cost for those solutions if I have only local backup solution in current state. Regards, Michal
IHAC who has a requirement to encrypt all data in-transit for CV. They use encrypted disks so they only want to encrypt data in transit for all clients. There does not appear to be any way to do that globally. 2 questions….. Can we turn on in-transit encryption across the commcell? Should we just use the CC level force encryption across the board and not worry that the disk drives have HW encryption enabled (ie. There is no risk to double encryption) Thanks, Phil
As title implies, I am retiring a VM Server. Currently, this server gets backed up daily, and it kept on local disk storage for a period of 1 month. What is the correct prescribed method using the command center GUI to “stop” the daily backups, and then just have the data age off for the next month until there is no data left and I can delete the VM from the VM group backup. Do I simply change the “plan” the vm is affiliated with to “none”?

We are an MSP, and we have a client who wants to be sure that we run a “Yearly Full” on a certain date in January. And that would need to get copied out to tape that would be retained for much longer and go to a different off-site location, so we want separate tapes for this yearly.One of the junior admins tried to configure this in the Command Center and then came to me with questions.He has a Monthly Copy and a Yearly Copy configured to copy to the tape pool.But we couldn’t figure out whether simply marking this as a Yearly would make it run yearly. We tried to create a schedule from the CommCell Console, with the yearly rules where we could state that the yearly backup runs on the X day of X month, etc. But we couldn’t seem to find these types of rules on the Plan created copy, from Command Center nor CommCell Console. It seems like the selective rules are different on the Command Center created policy and Advanced is greyed out next to yearly.We’re wondering what the correct Co
I recently carried out a large delete from a Storage Policy copy, the Total Application Size is bigger than Total Data Size on Disk. I have waited a day before rechecking these stats. I can see there are no pending deletes so am assuming the Commvault pruning cycle has completed. My object storage carries out the physical deletes once a week. But I would not think this would affect how Commvault displays the data on disk size. Any ideas why my Total application Size is smaller than Total Data Size on disk (running 2022E or 11.28 for us old farts)

Backup snapshots are being cleaned up, however manual intervention may be requiredto ensure that all snapshots are removed. We are testing Commvault data backup and restore to S3 Compatible Storage. For Oracle, archive log backup is successful whereas restore fails, and in the case of Oracle default sub-client both backup and restore fail. So, the instructions at:https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/60435_adding_windows_drivers_for_nic_and_mass_storage_devices.html… state how to add drivers to a WinPE5 disk, which is only windows 8 compatible. We’re obviously working mostly with servers and (at least in my case), there are no Windows 8 drivers available. I’ve seen another note where the PE10 drivers uses Windows 2019 (it’s on the 1-touch download page in the store). However, when trying to add those drivers, the only way I can seen to find is off a system with the filesystem agent installed and apparently only works with the PE5 disk as such:Where is the method to install updated drivers to PE10, if any? I seem to have run into a disconnect here. =)Thank you for any help anyone can provide.
