Unable to get article about custom report

Trying to access this, as it was refered to as a good introduction to creating custom reports on another thread. https://community.commvault.com/tech-blogs-commvault-39/creating-custom-reports-using-commcell-views-1481Is it possible to get access to this? I know we are supposed to use the REST API as much as we can. But it still provide valuable information on how to create the custom reports.

recover site collection for sharepoint on-prem version - 'Microsoft Sharepoint server subscription edition'

Hello Community,Seems like restoring a site collection through the offline mining option doesn't support if you check the SharePoint server requirements for Commvault offline mining; the 'Microsoft SharePoint Server Subscription Edition' isn't listed. https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/offline_mining_for_sharepoint_server.htmlif not support, what’s the method for restoring a site collection for the on-prem  'Microsoft SharePoint Server Subscription Edition' version? thanks

Incremental backups on iSeries File Backup taking same time as full backups

Hi all,I have the follwing issue. We are using CommVault extensively to backup our iSeries LPAR. However, we notice that on the big libraries tha incremental backups take the same time or even longer than the full. And it seems to backup far less objects.Anyone has an idea?

github protection using github app credentials

Hi, Is it possible (or is it on the roadmap) to use github app credential during github authentication? As far i understand only personal access key is possible now?  I was told by our github team that using app credentials is a good practice and allow us to use higher API limits.  Thanks.

Selective Aux Copy Most-Recent Only.

In our enterprise environment, we have a primary media agent we store the backups of all of our servers. Some of these are then copied out to Azure for cloud storage, all are eventually copied to tape, and then we have a completely separate media agent running a different OS than all of our other machines where we keep an aux copy of only the most recent synthetic full of all of our servers. Used to work great, and now is not. Pretty sure I know why, and I am curious if there is a better way to do what I am doing.Previously, we had the retention set to 1 day, 1 cycle which worked fine. We did the aux copy every evening after the main backups completed. After the aux copy there would be two sets of data for the last two days on the media agent until noon the next day when the aging job would run and the earlier day would be purged from the system. This is great when you have 18TB of data and 40TB of storage and you can fit two copies on the media agent. But growth is a thing, and sudden

Where DDB+Compress Happens

Hi Team, Can we see in the log file whether Deduplication and Compression are performed on the Client or the Media Agent?We changed Deduplication and Compression to be done in Media Agent via subclient, but we want to see this in the log file as well.

Various Client Endpoints

Hello I’m working on an application to capture all clients in an environment and assess their backup status. So far I’m getting stuck on capturing all the clients in the environment. I see there are multiple endpoints that I have to hit to capture all the items and I’m wondering if there is a catchall endpoint for this OR if there’s not, what could be the best way to go about this process?Endpoints I’ve touched so far:/Clients/Clients/VSAclientlist/Clients/VMPseudoClient Any assistance would be appreciated

How to decrease or delete Data Classification on server

HelloWwe are using optimazed scan for a windows server. But It crates a small database and this dataabse does low space on disk.This DB has been crates on E:\System Volume Information\Commvault\Data Classification   I have changed scan method as Recursive Scan and I have added this additional settings. But ITs still having space on disk. can you help how to delete is please?

Data Aging sending Zip instead of HTML

The scheduled Data Aging report is now sending a zip file instead of a HTML.  This was not set by the administrator.  Where would I go to edit the report to send HTML instead of a zip file.

Multiple DDBs on same NTFS volume

Hello,Can you please tell me if there are any limitations regarding putting multiple DDBs from multiple storage pools on a single NTFS volume, other than performance impact?Should each DDB engine of each storage pool be configured to use separate folder? Move Content from MA2_Lib to MA3_Lib

Hello,We are running into the issue with Office365 restore jobs when we refreshed the Media agent few weeks ago. Selective copy that shoud copy yearly Fulls to tape not waiting for the expected jobs

Hello,I created a selective copy that shoud copy yearly Fulls to tape. it is scheduled to be executed on January 2025 to copy the last fulls of December 2024 But something is not clear for me. Based on the configuration and what I understand,all the last full backups that will be performed on December 2024 should be copied to tape at launch via the schedule policy. (expected on January 2025) Here is the detailed configuration Storage Policy Copies : Storage Policy Copy Properties [General]  Storage Policy Copy Properties of [Selective Copy] Schedule policy   Why on this copy, I see that is on the Media Not CopiedWhen I click on Media Not copied, I see that some media needs to be copied from the Primary even if we are not at the end of the year 2024 and the schedule doesn’t happen yet (schedule is planned for January 2025 to copy last full of December 2024) Media Not copied list Detail of V_30450 Detail of V_30450I see that some jobs are waiting for copy but that jobs have been run on 2

The pathname 'java' is not allowed since it is either a junction or a symlink

NDMP Backups completed with errors due to following error:NDMP Server [] reported the following error: [DUMP: Error: The pathname 'java' is not allowed since it is either a junction or a symlink] Nevertheless Commvault shows 0 failed files or folders. Is anything can be done to make those backups green (complete without errors)?

Cloud backup resiliency when encountering internet packet drops

Hey there everyone!Does anyone have suggestions on how to go about working around an ISP issue where the 5th or 6th hop out to the internet (from the datacenter) is dropping packets and causing the backup to cloud storage to fail?We’ve tried adjusting chunk size and retry intervals, but it still seems to be hard to get the data through before the entire job fails.Any help would be appreciated. The amount of backup data would be around 4TB for a full. Thanks!

Kubernetes Restores in Namespace Default

Hello Community, I am facing problems at restores incl. “unconditional overwrite” option into NS Default. Even a Inplace restore back into the Default NS as well as an out-of-Place restore into Default NS. Every other destination is working for restores. Do anyone know restrictions or is aware about this?I have problems restoring including the “Unconditional Overwrite” option to NS Default. Both an in-place restore back to the Default NS and an out-of-place restore to the Default NS. Every other destination is working for restores. Does anyone know or are aware of any limitations?

I have 2 IBM tape drives i want to backup to seperate tape media for example, Monday full  backup to  Media 1 Tuesday full  backup to media 2 Wednesday full  backup to media 3 And I want this cycle to go like this. all monday backups to media  1   all tuesday backups to media 2  and so onIs it possible to take tape backup  like this
