I am currently replacing all of the Windows Server 2012 r2 servers with Windows server 2022. The current web server is running WS2012R2. If I build a new Web Console server with WS2022 how do I know that the newly built server will take over the web console duties? What else do I need to do to replace it with 2022? Any documentation would be helpful. It is painful to find relevant commvault documentaion.
Hi
I believe when you install webconsole, the latest install becomes the default. However, if that does not happen, you can manually adjust the webconsole URL using this method:
https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/4344_changing_web_console_url_for_commserve.html
That should be all you need to do there - one other consideration is networking. If you have firewalls restricting access between the web console server and web server (typically CS) - then you need to open the right ports:
If there is a firewall between the Web Server and Web Console or Command Center computers, the Web Console or Command Center can communicate with the Apache ActiveMQ (Message Queue) software on the Web Server through a port-forwarding gateway using port 8052. For more information on port-forwarding gateway configuration, see Configuring Access to the Web Server Using a Port-Forwarding Gateway.
Hope that helps. Let us know how it goes.
