As usual, the @dude is right.  There’s a whole slew of documentation about optimizing the disk for your DDB, including running IOPS tests to make sure your disk qualifies:

Yes you can. Would you be applying what Commvault recommend? No.

The DDB is to me one of the most important features within the Backup solution, and I would make sure to completely isolate this on fast drives on its own space for various reasons including security, performance and troubleshooting.
