Can an incremental storage policy be used for multiple storage policies?

In order to remove excess storage policies, I was wondering if incremental storage policies can be shared across multiple storage policies? We use the incremental storage policies for our daily backups which has a short retention cycle of 7 days 1 cycle.

Hey @TP_Erickson , thanks for the post!

I don’t see why you couldn’t; I would only be concerned that the library/Media Agents for the clients in other Storage Policies ?(i.e. the clients in the ‘new’ Storage Policies don’t have a solid connection to the Media Agents and Clients).  With that said, does it make more sense to consolidate subclients into fewer Storage Policies altogether?

Also, before you enact, make sure you check out the Data Paths for the following (error I got in my lab):

Thanks for your help Mike, Will be looking to implement this option soon to free up some tape consumption. Thank you.
