we are trying to backup the azure VMs using MA placed in azure with VSA installed on them. Backup is taken to azure blob storage vis service endpoint. Problem is, when we try to browse the content on subclient of azure pseudo client, sometime we get error and some it shows the content (VM list). credentials are fine, all permissions are in place. cloud test tool also shows clean result.

Any recommendation on what logs we can check when it fail to browse subclient content on azure pseudo client? also any other suggestions will be really helpful.

Good morning.  When you are not able to browse, if you wait awhile and retry does it then work?  If it does then this would mean that the index is most likely doing a reconstruction to bring it up to date as the information that you are looking for may not still be in the index.

HI Orazan,

Can we look into some log to check if re construction is going on for Index ?

When you initiate the browse, look at your job controller for any index reconstruction job, and you can get the details/view logs of this job. When job is complete, you should be able to perform the browse.

You can also login your MA and access your %CV%/log_files folder, and check for logs at that point.

Several paths :

Do you run backup copies of the snapped’ azure VMs ?

Have the backup copy jobs completed before you are trying to browse ?

Do you have MA gridstor ?

HI Laurent,

We run Azure backup without intellisnap. In normal scenario as well CV uses snapshot to complete backups. Yes we have Gridstore configure. Backup from other MA in store runs fine. I was looking for some specific log file that we can check to validate the logs condition while browse.

browse.log on the CommServe to find out which MA the request went to. I suspect you will find the browse info in the cvd.log on the VSA/MA proxy because its likely using live browse. In that case there would also be psuedomount.log
