Cambios por migración de servidor cliente

Se tiene un servidor XX el cual se requiere migrar a un nuevo equipo YY, la idea es que el equipo nuevo YY toma el nombre y la IP del equipo XX, mientras que el equipo XX es aislado y posteriormente eliminado, la idea es conservar los backups en CV del equipo XX y que  el equipo  YY  lógicamente quede con los planes de backup que tenía XX.

Al realizar lo indicado aparece lo siguiente el cliente original con la data que tenia almacenada pero el cliente nuevo no tiene las politicas del original

Hi @Freddy Chaves,

I think this will resolve it

  1. Uninstall the new client
  2. Change the hostname the old deconfigured client with the backup history with the new IP address of the new client. It might fail and ask you if you want to update the database only - click yes
  3. Reinstall, and make sure to enter the correct client name, but more importantly, the same IP address that you used on the client in the CommCell.

They have the same display name but we cannot see the hostname and client name of each entry.

The one greyed out has VSA backups while the active one not (yet). So maybe you can try to merge them as a single entity. Follow this:

con estos 3 pasos ademas de conservar la data copiada, es posible que las politicas y planes configurados en el servidor antiguo pasen automaticamente al nuevo ?

crea una única entrada para scsqlmonca en la consola, no se si tras ejecutar el comando tendrá el plan o la política asignada, pero si no es así se la puedes asignar posteriormente y a continuación lanzar una copia completa, si realmente quieres usar el cliente para hacer copias.
