Releasing VM License

HI team,

 

Greetings!! 

We are facing an issue with the licensing of VM, the backups are not running VM servers under the vCenter host. we are trying to deconfigure the client not able to see the deconfiguring option. I have attached the screenshot. Kindly help us to deconfigure the VM servers

Thanks for the post @Vamsi vardhan !

Here’s how to reduce the count:

  • Review the License Summary report and note all of the VMs that were being calculated.
  • To decrease licensing, remove existing virtual machines from the subclient content and run a full backup jobs or synthetic full backup job for all the subclients.
  • Note that the following types of data are also excluded from the usage calculation:
    • Subclients with disabled activity.
    • Subclients with no storage policy.

If Capacity can not be reduced you will need to purchase additional licensing.

In order to decrease VM usage, after removing existing virtual machines from the subclient content and by running full backup jobs or synthetic full backup jobs, you will need also to delete previous backup images (for these VMs that you excluded) ?
