@Justin Wolf
just want to clarify, when you said “When using VLANs, the parent interface (ie Bond1) cannot have an IP Address assigned. All IP addresses need to be assigned to tagged vlan” ,
it means the IP address assigned to tagged vlan interface of HSX node should be one of the IP from the IP range of VLAN/subnet , right ?
Aaron,
HSX fully supports 802.1q trunking for data protection traffic on top of a bonded interface using active-backup or LACP. There are three limitations to be aware of when using this:
- When using VLANs, the parent interface (ie Bond1) cannot have an IP Address assigned. All IP addresses need to be assigned to tagged vlan
- Only one default gateway is supported, if there is a need for multiple routers, static routes must be used.
- VLANs cannot be added to the storage pool network interfaces, these must remain dedicated to file system traffic.
See https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/deploying_hyperscale_x_reference_architecture_with_tagged_vlan.html for details.
Hi @Justin Wolf
Kindly help here in confirming the network config.
