Hello,

I would like to discuss the issue with a cleaning tape.

Our cleaning tape is marked as deprecated and it is not possible to use it for cleaning anymore. Is it possible to somehow reset the counter for number of uses? We tried to delete the cleaning tape and rediscovered it, but the Commvault remembers the number of uses. The cleaning tape seems to be new, on the tape library there is written, that it was used almost 60 times.

Any help much appriciated!

Hi @drPhil !  Interesting question.  Are we 100% positive that the uses weren’t legitimate?

You can run a Job Summary report to see how often Clean Media operations have been run.

I’d rather start by assuming the usage is valid and see WHY it was triggered so often (assuming it is that new).
