We are in the process of replacing a tape library with another. How many tape libraries can be configured on a mediaagent? We would like to have both attached at the same time for a transition period. The old one has LTO6 drives and the new one has LTO9 drives.

Hello @pingsoon

Thanks for your query,

We can have multiple tape libraries attached to a media agent, it should be detected on the OS level and zoned appropriately.

Please refer to following docs for configuring and deconfiguring a tape library

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/87494_deconfiguring_tape_storage.html

You may refer to Media Refresh documentation during the transition/migration of data from one library to another - https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/10516_media_refresh.html

Thanks Tanu, the tape library has been configured but cannot detect the LTO9 drives. I am using v11 FR20 and I believe this is the issue. What is the minimum FR that I need to get to for the LTO9 drives to work?
