My customer has a 5 year old Hyperscale appliance,It is end of support in October 2023. We are being told that at end of support, the software will cease to function, either for backup or restore. Is this correct?

I apologize for the delay in responding to your query. Hope you had a chance to review this documentation already.
EOL essentially means that Support will stop releasing any more patches or updates for it or provide software troubleshooting for issues. This does not mean the software will cease to function.
