Hello,

I have restored a Linux redhat VMware VM out of place with another name . the VM has vmxnet 3 network driver and has VMware tools enabled

when I restored the VM, and powered on it, the network card

mac address change and a new device “Wired connection 1” is created inside the guest, then I need to set the IP again.

Do you know if it is possible to restore a backup out of place and keep the network settings without manual modifications

For windows machines no issue.

Thanks !!

Hello @Bloopa

This would require the VSA proxy be a linux machine as well for this to work. The windows machine is successful likely because the proxy is a Windows machine.

I do have a CMR with development where they are working to get cross restores with IP/NICs working. CMR number is 334993.
