Hi,I’m working on a new design which will consists of several ROBOs and 1 DC which will act as DRC for branch offices. Each ROBO should have local MediaAgent with primary copy and replicate to DRC as secondary copies. In this design I would like to Protect customer data against Ransomware using WORM Lock on Disk libraries.This will require DDB Sealing and periodic Full Jobs to be transferred to target DRC site which can be a lengthy process consuming a lot of resources. To mitigate that, I’ve been looking into DDB Priming feature which seems like a perfect solution for this issue.I run a simple test in my lab:Create a primary storage on MA1 Create a secondary storage on MA2 Run Full backup on client Run Aux copy, note the “Data Transferred on Network” Seal DDB on secondary target Enable DDB Priming on secondary target Run Full backup on client Run Aux copy, note the “Data Transferred on Network”Comparing this numbers it’s obvious that data are transferred again between primary and seco

We currently have an old (v11.20) setup with the Commserve at a central location, and multiple mediaagents with local iSCSI SAN at remote sites.As we’re about to do a major overhaul since both SW and HW support are expiring this year, there is a wishlist item that I haven’t so far figured out if CommVault can provide:If a remote site goes offline, we want local personell there to be able to perform restores. We would still like to gather all backups at the central location(s) though, and have centralized overview and control when everything is running normally…So the question is: Can this be done? I’ve tried browsing docs and whitepapers etc. but haven’t found anything that seemed relevant - can you have server tiers with (limited) local autonomy but still have central management and control?Please also note that our whole environment is very much closed off to the outside world, so any form of cloud service etc. is a hard no.
Hello Guys,I will be adding a new media agent to our existing comcell environment. After installing commvault software on the new media agent and sharing the mount paths of the disk library with the new media agent. Will the storage policies associated with this disk library be updated automatically to include the new media agents in the "data paths" tab? Or should I manually navigate to each storage policy and add the new media agent in the "data paths" tab?

good evening, i am studying about proxy and i am quite confused about proxy vs vsa proxy vs network gateway, which are the use cases?i am configuring a local storage pool made of 3 different media agents with local discs, and like to add another REMOTE storage pool for aux copy, someone suggests me to put in front of media agents a proxy for limiting and controlling access, but i quite confused, is better proxy, vsa, or gateway? thank you.
Hello, I am trying to restore mailbox but i am getting error in Webconsole: Browse failed due to internal web server error. Please check DM2Web.log for more details.In the DM2WEB log on commserver i dont see any errors. When i am trying to restore from java console the option to browser and restore is grey out Do i still need to install outlook app on the MA to browser?

Hello,I’m looking for a command to change the container of a tape media.In the CommandCenter it’s not possible to change the container and therefore I can’t find an equivalent API.In the Console I’m able to change the container of a tape but even if I activated logging (ALT-F8) there was nothing useful in the logs.I was searching through documentation but found no qcommand or anything to change the container.
Can Commvault backup a volume from a C60 and restore it to a C50? C60 is in our Production environment and C50 is in our test environment.
Hi,we have an Oracle tape library and sometimes i must clean the drives. I must do that over the web console from the library. Is it not possible that commvault does it automatically when a cleaning is needed?Thanks and regardsDennis
