How fresh install for version 11.44 on win and requirement for success process

Hi everyone,I downloaded the ISO from the Download Center for both Linux and Windows to test Commvault version 11.44.On Windows, I ran the installer (.exe) as Administrator, but the "Create New CommCell" option is not available. I only have two options: Join to CommCell Advanced Component On Linux, I tried to install it on RHEL 10.24, but the installation cannot download or connect to MSSQL. Also, the installer does not prompt me to choose whether I want to connect to another MSSQL server. Is this expected behavior in version 11.44, or am I missing a step/configuration?Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,Does anyone know if you can search the chat history on the Arlie website for specific terms? Thanks and regards,Thomas

Hi,I have experience with day to day management of Commcell console. But I’m now starting with Commvault cloud and would like to onboard a customers on-prem Hyper-V environment to Commvault cloud. Is there some documentation that somebody can show me to help me with this process? Kind regards,Stephen

I’m asking because the document in version 11.28 has been deleted. Before upgrading Commvault from version 11.28 to 40, I would like to upgrade the Windows version of the Commserve server to 2022. - After DR backup, format the entire existing Commserve server, then install Windows 2022 - DR recovery after installing version 11.28 of Commserve - Upgrade to 11.40 We plan to proceed with the work in this order. Is it possible to use version 11.28 of Commserve in Windows 2022?

Where can I start downloading the Security Advisories CV_2026_07_5, CV_2026_07_8, and CV_2026_07_8? Thank you Arturo.

Hello Commvault Team,I have a question regarding the operating system support matrix in Commvault 11.46.The Linux File System Agent System Requirements document lists support for:Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 Oracle Linux 10However, Rocky Linux 10 and AlmaLinux 10 are not listed. At the same time, the 1-Touch and Virtualize Me for Linux System Requirements document includes support for AlmaLinux 10 (and Rocky Linux 10).This seems inconsistent, so I would appreciate some clarification.Could you please help answer the following questions? Why are Rocky Linux 10 and AlmaLinux 10 supported for 1-Touch but not for the Linux File System Agent? Is this an intentional support policy or simply a documentation difference? Are Rocky Linux 10 and AlmaLinux 10 currently under validation for the Linux File System Agent? Is support planned for an upcoming Maintenance Release or LTS release? We are currently planning new Linux deployments, and understanding the roadmap will help us decide which operating s

As often, Arlie can't answer my question. The first response is always very confident, but when I ask for documentation, links, or other supporting information, it backs down and ultimately tells me to contact Commvault Support or my Commvault account representative. And Commvault Support has become pretty good at simply forwarding Arlie's answers, so I think the quickest way to get a real answer is to ask here.We need to backup Atlassian Jira. I see Commvault SaaS has a solution for this. But what if I want to back it up on-premisses. Is this possible?Arlie says no problem, simular as Saas, but cannot provide me more info than that. So, my question, can we? And if so, can I find this information and configuation guide online?

Error Code: [14:286]Description: Index reconstruction failed. Reason [Restore of Index logs failed from media [lenovo_disklib2 ]. Please check whether media is in library and retry.].Source: baas-media04, Process: BrowseDear! This is a file system restore (dump_log) that is failing at 5% completion. Previously, we had conflicts with backup jobs running on the same server, so I created a Blackout Window schedule to prioritize the restore. However, I have a DDB_Reconstruction job running, which I believe might be causing the conflict. This is why it's generating this failure. Could you please validate this?Best Regards,Sirlene

Dears,I have a vCenter environment, and I created a Red Hat 8 virtual machine to be used as a VSA proxy.I installed the Virtual Server package and the File System package successfully. However, after completing the installation, this node does not appear as an Access Node in the Virtualization configuration.Kindly advise why this is happening.Note: I am currently using a trial license.

I have deployed Commvault components using this procedure. But I’m not sure how to add my S3 Compatible storage SSL root certificate to be available on deployed pods. Please, can you tell me if there is a procedure in order to add the certificates on MediaAgent pods? Thanks

We are currently deploying a Commvault solution to protect VMs hosted on a Huawei FusionStorage HCI platform. We have encountered a specific issue regarding shared storage backups and would like to request your technical guidance. While backup and restore operations for VMs hosted on the local disks of the FusionCompute cluster are working successfully, we encounter an error when attempting to back up VMs hosted on FusionStorage shared storage (please see the attached screenshot for error details).Error code 91:327Commvault Version: v11.36.90 (2024E)Deployment: Commvault All-in-One installed on a Windows VM (no additional VSA proxy).Environment Versions:FusionCompute: 8.9.0FusionCube: 8.3.0FusionStorage: 8.3.0Based on the Commvault documentation, we understand that the FusionCompute SDK does not support direct FusionStorage operations, requiring Commvault to use a Java SDK and command-line utilities. The documentation also specifies that the Virtual Server Agent (VSA) must be installed

I am presented with the need to install FREL on an existing Linux VM with the operating system already in place, I want to use this FREL for Huawei Fusion Compute Hypervisor, I installed media agent, file server and VSA on this linux, So , How to install and configure a FREL ? whats the next step to make it operational

Hi All,If I have a VM client being backed up with the VSA agent and it also has the SQL agent installed on it, how would I go about excluding the SQL databases from the the VM backup? Thanks!

We are running CommVault version 11.40.30 with Hyperscale and AGP. We would like to confirm whether individual virtual machine files can be backed up and restored at granular file level. If so, what is the most efficient method to locate and restore internal VM files (for example, AppRecovery_ver2_2025.pdf) directly, rather than restoring the entire VM and searching for the file post-restore?Does achieving this required activation of a feature, as a requirement to utilizes such feature? IF yes please for your kind guidelines.

Hello,We are testing Two-Factor Authentication on Commvault Platform Release 11.36.83.Configuration:- Two-Factor Authentication enabled at CommCell level- Microsoft Authenticator configured and tested successfully for local admin user- Email based OTP working correctly- Windows Integrated Authentication enabled for domain users Test scenario:1. Email OTP enabled → Login via CommCell Console works (password + TOTP appended)2. Email OTP disabled (enabled "Do not send email with PIN for two-factor authentication")3. Attempt login via CommCell Console using:   password + current TOTP code (Microsoft Authenticator)Result:Login fails with "Invalid username/password"Questions:Is Microsoft Authenticator (TOTP) supported as the only second factor for CommCell Console login, without email based OTP enabled Is email based OTP required for CommCell Console login? Is this expected product behavior or a configuration issue?Thank you.

i have the problem in Commvault license. I apply the license, put still the evaluation. Please see the  PIC attached. any help Please .
