I’m working with a customer to test Proxmox backups and am a bit confused.  When I go to the Proxmox config page I don’t have an access node which is expected since we haven’t set it up yet.  When I click on the link to download it, I get an VSA_x64.exe, which is a Windows executable.  From documentation I understand we have to install it on at least one of the cluster nodes which are a flavor of linux.  Is the idea to download the CV linux binaries using the VSA_x64 executable?  If so, what would be the proper package(s)? Also, it is a little confusing with the documentation as I’m reading it; do we need VSA installed on all the nodes in the cluster or just a single node to act as the access node?Thanks in advance!

Hi,I have few questions about compliance lock and the retention of last full backup.How does the retention of the last full backup work in a storage with a compliance lock? Is the retention for the last full backup updated when a new full backup is added at the end of the month? I know that compliance lock can't lower the retention.For example, if a full backup occurred on the 15th day of the month considered as the last full backup of month and the retention is set to 1 year, but on the 30th day of the month a new full backup occurred and it is the real last full backup of the month, does the first full backup will update the retention date even if it is in a storage with compliance lock.Is it recommended to select "Last full backup" for a extended retention job with compliance lock? Do you recommended to use instead "First full backup" with compliance lock? What is the best practice?

Hi,I just learned, that the WebConsole is no longer available with 11.40.So far, so good.But what I really miss is the Report Builder, that is no longer available with new installations of Commvault.Are there any plans to make it available in the CommandCenter as well in the near future ?and if so, when will this happen ?rgdsKlaus

Hi,additionally to my previous post regarding support for Rocky Linux 9.6 I now ask for support for Rocky Linux 9.7 or Rocky Linux 9 in general. I think this would be a curial step for Commvault to go from Windows to Linux and also allow customers to chose their distro.Why:On December 1st Rocky Linux 9.7 has been released. The Release policy for Rocky Linux: Rocky Linux does not support point releases once a newer one is available. Once a new minor point release is available, the older one is immediately considered end of life and users must upgrade to continue receiving security updates. For example, once 8.5 gets a general release, 8.4 is immediately end of life. SourceAre there any plans for changing the documentation to support Rocky Linux 9 in the latest point release?

Hi Team,I am running CommServe version 11.40.30 on Linux, and I am facing an issue where Command Center dashboards show incomplete information.The following dashboards are affected: Health Storage Space Storage Some sections are missing or empty. While reviewing the logs, I found the following errors: SEVERE: failed to retrieve data for datasource [cs], dataset [GetTopUsedDiskLibraries], user [admin], error [Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition.] SEVERE: failed to execute cache query for dataset [GetTopUsedDiskLibraries], cacheId [87c1520841b54f0388a2f5fe31ddcdbb], error [Table "Cache_93e2cdc681ac4744b54ea90cca217b30" not found (this database is empty)] SQL statement: SELECT * FROM [Cache_93e2cdc681ac4744b54ea90cca217b30] ORDER BY "Date to be Full"Has anyone encountered this issue before? Hi everyone,I am currently performing a hardware refresh/migration from a legacy Media Agent to a new Commvault HyperScale Edge (Single Node).Current Setup: CommServe is on a separate dedicated server. Legacy MA: Windows Server with local disk libraries (NTFS). New Setup: HyperScale Edge (Single Node). Already joined to the CommCell, and the HyperScale Storage Pool is created. Proposed Migration Plan: Since I cannot simply move the DDB/Disk (due to the architecture change to HS Storage Pool), I plan to do a Side-by-Side migration: Create a Secondary Copy on the existing Storage Policies. Set the Target Library as the new HyperScale Storage Pool. Run Auxiliary Copy to sync all data. Once synced, Promote the Secondary Copy to Primary. Decommission the old MA. My Questions: Is this the recommended workflow for migrating to HyperScale? When creating the Secondary Copy, should I expect any specific behavior regarding the DDB association, since the target is a Storage Pool? A

HelloIs the default policy enabled when creating the Exchange plan sufficient for clearing out older messages or mailboxes? Our default retention period is set to one year. However, when I check the Office 365 storage policy and the retention reason, I see "Data Aging Disabled" listed.

For Oracle database backups on Commvault, what is the recommended approach to use retention rules? The recommended approach is to use retention rules based on number of cycles or days? 

Hi all,we upgraded to the latest release 11.36.33 (from 11.32) and, according to this documentation page (https://kb.commvault.com/article/54270) we should have MongoDB 7.0...but if I check the MongoDB instance that is running now on the commserve, I got release number 6.0.14.Do you have any idea why there is this mismatch ?RegardsGianluca

We are currently running several M365 clients over a resourcepool using a number of access nodes.Is there a way to limit the max amount of streams for a single access node to ensure its not overloaded?example: 100 M365 clients with 10 streams generate up to 1000 streams when run simultanously. However I would like them to be limited to no more than 50 streams per access node., so with 4 access nodes they would never use more than 200 streams in total.I’d rather scale with more access nodes as needed rather than try juggle the correct number of streams on all clients.Currently on Commvault 11.28

We have configured the Cassandra backup and initiated the backup job. The job status shows Running, but the data is not being transferred.We checked the logs, and they are showing Failed.Kindly help us to resolve this issue. I have attached the screenshot for reference.

 Hello Team,we have some users wtih the following rights. They could browse and restore MSSQL,MySQL and PostgreSQL DB’s. We have configured Couchbase today for those users.They can see that clsuters  but they can not browse the contents. Which right should I give them ?

Team,One of my customer is on SP20, post discussions we have finally convinced them to move on to the latest SP (as per documentation, the latest LTS is SP40), is it advisable to move directly from SP20 to SP40? what will be impact if this is done? Or do we have to upgrade to SP32? If yes, SP32 is also announced EOL.

I have question . i install new CS v11sp40 choose all in one install. i open Command center on web browser . i try login .it sucess but system return login again . not access to UI interface. Could you please suggest a solution? 

I have removed a client that we didn’t need anymore, but I forgot to first remove it from commvault.Now when the client is gone, I can’t remove it in commvault from the client computers?

Hi, I’m trying to do a BMR on a windows server, but 1-touch can only find the network card in slot1. the connections on slot1 is on a management network that can’t reach the commvault server. We have nic in slot6 (Broadcom BCM5741x) that reach the commcell. I have added the drivers for this card, but slot6 doesn’t shows up when I boot 1-touch.Anyone that have a clue on what to do here?BR, Tony

Customer is backing Azure NetApp Files. Can they tap on CV managed backup gateway so they dont need to manage any infra?What are the caveats? I understand that the traffic will be going through public endpoints? Any egress charges for customer?

 Question on GUI audit trail. It was my understanding that the audit trail captures all CommCell console gui operations that are being doneon the Commvault environment and many more. The Commvault documentation appear to show this is not the case.  Loading Commvault licence for example is not reflected in the GUI Audit trail.  So if GUI audit trail does not capture these significant changes or config change in the environment, then what Commvault report does it.  I raise this question as it is very important that we have some tracking as to what changes are being done in the environment and if the GUI audit trail does not track everything and no other Commvault feature does then it makes it hard to monitor any changes (unapproved changes ) done in the environment.Thoughts, suggestions and reactions are most welcome

Recently we did a upgrade of Commvault to 11.36 from 11.32. During the update, the update failed on our index server because the disk was full. We freed up some space and was able to complete the update. After the update, everything backs up fine except exchange which is our index server. I have gotten nowhere with support. Is there anything I can look for on the index server or Commvault itself? I am running out of ideas. 

Dear Team, Good day!We currently have a physical server that is acting as both the CommServe and MediaAgent on a Windows platform.We are planning to migrate the entire CommServe role to a Windows-based virtual machine. Additionally, the same physical server will be reconfigured with a Linux operating system to function as a MediaAgent.At present, the disk library mount paths are configured on DAS (Direct Attached Storage) connected to the existing physical server. We would like guidance on how to perform this migration seamlessly, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing backup and restore operations. Regards,Mani D  

We are planning an upgrade from 11.32 to 11.36. With the deprecation of the web console, does this mean that the legacy Compliance Search (not the CommandCenter version), will disappear? We have users still using that, and don’t see many benefits to the CommandCenter version.
