Support for OpenNebula (KVM) Hypervisor

Hi there,

My name is Jim and I’m a Product Manager at OpenNebula - one of the most popular cloud management platforms on the market.

We are an Open Source product and have a huge community of users, however in recent months we’ve had a huge influx of requests from our Enterprise Edition customers for Commvault VM backup support.

I understand that in order to have this native integration it will need work from the Commvault team and perhaps you have some API standards we can implement on our side as well. We are willing to commit resources to assist and work on such an implementation and it would be great to open a discussion with the Commvault team on this.

It would be great to hear if Commvault have had requests from their side as well - we would love to partner on this and share information on the Commvault / OpenNebula customers who have requested such an integration.

would be interesting to hear if there is any news regarding OpenNebula & Commvault Support?

Are you working together for a implementation? Or any news…

We are Service Provider and checking alternatives and Commvault Support would be an added value.

As far as I'm aware this is not on the immediate roadmap. Curious to hear if someone already created a CMR. I do know that as an result of the changes at VMware side that in the next few years we will see a fragmentation of virtualization solutions being used, so I think the engineering team will have to prioritize very carefully what to add.

Hi there,

Any news regarding the planned support for Open Nebula. I do see a shift from Broadcom VMware to other hypervisors and Open Nebula seems to be popular within our customer base.
