We are currently deploying a Commvault solution to protect VMs hosted on a Huawei FusionStorage HCI platform. We have encountered a specific issue regarding shared storage backups and would like to request your technical guidance.

While backup and restore operations for VMs hosted on the local disks of the FusionCompute cluster are working successfully, we encounter an error when attempting to back up VMs hosted on FusionStorage shared storage (please see the attached screenshot for error details).

r/CommVault - VM Backup Issue on Huawei FusionStorage HCI with commvault
Error code 91:327

Commvault Version: v11.36.90 (2024E)

Deployment: Commvault All-in-One installed on a Windows VM (no additional VSA proxy).

Environment Versions:

FusionCompute: 8.9.0

FusionCube: 8.3.0

FusionStorage: 8.3.0

Based on theĀ Commvault documentation, we understand that the FusionCompute SDK does not support direct FusionStorage operations, requiring Commvault to use a Java SDK and command-line utilities. The documentation also specifies that the Virtual Server Agent (VSA) must be installed on the Domain 0 host (Dom0).

Could you please provide clarification on the following points:

Compatibility: Is Commvault v11.36.90 (2024E) fully compatible with the Huawei versions listed above (FusionCompute 8.9.0 / FusionCube 8.3.0)?

Dom0 Identification: How can we correctly identify the Dom0 host within this HCI architecture?

VSA Installation: What is the specific procedure for installing the VSA agent directly on the Dom0?
