I’m asking because the document in version 11.28 has been deleted.

Before upgrading Commvault from version 11.28 to 40, I would like to upgrade the Windows version of the Commserve server to 2022.

- After DR backup, format the entire existing Commserve server, then install Windows 2022

- DR recovery after installing version 11.28 of Commserve

- Upgrade to 11.40

We plan to proceed with the work in this order.

Is it possible to use version 11.28 of Commserve in Windows 2022?

Hi @tmyoo

Seems like Arlie is still up for some v11.28 questions, so here is its response:

“No, running a Commvault v11.28 CommServe on Windows Server 2022 is not supported.

  • Windows Server 2022 support for CommServe requires Commvault version 11.34 or higher.
  • If you are running v11.28, you must upgrade to at least v11.34 to install or operate the CommServe on Windows Server 2022.

For more details on supported versions and system requirements, refer to the CommServe Server System Requirements documentation.

Recommendation: Upgrade your CommServe to a supported version before deploying on Windows Server 2022.”
