Incorrectly created Server Groups for CommServe LiveSync configuration

Hello Commvault Community,

While troubleshooting another topic, the Failover configuration was disabled and when I wanted to enable it again, I noticed something disturbing and I would like to ask whether this has changed in last versions or whether it is a bug that needs to be fixed.

For clarity, I've checked this from both consoles (CommCell Console and CommandCenter), and both have the same problem.

When we changed the CS Failover setting from "Existing Configuration" to "Use Network Gateway," changes were made to the Client Computer Groups and Network Topologies created by the CS Failover configuration.

What concerned us was that nothing was displayed for the "External Clients for Failover" group and the "Proxy Clients for Failover" group. We repeatedly refreshed, restarted the console and tried the "Push Network Configuration" option, but nothing helped.

Until we noticed that the Server Group/Client Computer Group association settings were set by default to search for clients/servers within the scope: "Client Scope" was set to "Clients of user," and the user itself was set to "undefined."

We found a solution to this problem, but it shouldn't work automatically like now. The group creation process for failover configurations doesn't work correctly for versions SP40 and SP42. We confirmed this in two different environments, and the behavior was the same - the association value is incorrectly set to "Client of user" instead of "Clients of this CommCell."

If this has changed in recent versions, please let us know - we couldn't find any information in the documentation.

We need information on whether this is the intended behavior of the system or whether it should work as described above and it’s a bug that needs to be fixed.

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards,
Kamil
