Hi GuysEach Subclient that gets created has 200+ Parameters and Options, some are set always, some not, new ones get added with every FeatureReleases and Default-Values might change with every other MaintenanceRelease. After couple of years I now have a Zoo full of varying configurations that I need to consolidate to a hand full of standards.Anybody know a convenient way to gather all available Options for a given Subclient-Type? Intention is to gather a giant table to be able to compare f.E. setting up same diskCleanupRules for all FIleSystem Agents.Tried to extract the Data from App_GetSubClientPropertiesResponse xml-Output but couldn’t find a good way to extract all Entity and Attribute Paths as source for a XPath-Query Loop through everything. XPath 3.0 would support something like “//@*/path()” to do that in a one-liner but Commvault Java stack doesn’t seem to support that.Anybody had the same challenge and found a solutionBest RegardsStefan
Hi AllI have a central vCenter that manages multiple Sites, hosting their own ESX Servers, Storage and all. We operate a dedicated MediaAgent in each of these Sites as well as one or more VMs acting as vProxy/FileBrowseEnabler. So far Backups go entirely through the MediaAgents as they are the only ones able to communicate with vCenter to query Inventory and manage Snapshots. Now we would like to utilize the vProxy VMs as dedicated Worker Nodes, reading and processing vmdks and co. When I add them as access nodes they either are not used at all or cause errors as they cannot (and shall not) communicate with vCenter. We’d like to have the MediaAgent as Management Node only and the vProxies doing all the work. Devide and conquer in a way. Any way to specifically mark or lock down which tasks a certain Machine can execute on a given Subclient or Instance?Running FR24, considering upgrade to FR28 if that makes a difference. Thanks,Stefan
I get the same Events in JavaConsoles EventViewer, but the Alert Rules don’t include all those new IDs. Do Admins need to manually update those predefined Rules or should the Upgrade have done that?
Documentation for Workflows mentions some Functions for Java to interact with or access other Resources during execution https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=49729.htm.But alone from browsing through the other Pages it gets clear there are way more options like activity.exitCode or workflow.setFailed().Dissecting built in Workflows reveals other treasures like csdb.execute(“sqlquery”).Is there a complete list of all available Functions and how/when to use them? Trial-and-Error and Reverse-Engineering by Customers seems error-prone and inefficient.
Hi AllI’m trying to come up with a kind a universal Error Handling for Workflows, in particular for ExecuteCommand Activities. Often enough they throw an exitCode > 0 and some commandOutput that may help the User.BUT then there are the times where exitCode is 0 but the outputXml states an error-condition. Tried to check and handle that via OnComplete Scripts. This is where I am stuck. Sometimes the response is generic and has an errorCode and errorString Element to parse, sometimes the errorString is missing, sometimes errorCode is 0 but an warningCode Element is added, but that isn’t returned all the time. Sometimes it’s a longer App_***Response Reply with the issues tucked in somewhere.Anybody know of a generic way to parse through all possible scenarios (mentioned or unmentioned) to catch issues right away, terminate execution and return useful consistent error Messages to User? Thanks,Stefan
Hi AllDoes anybody know the exact requirements (roles, privilleges, namespace, whatever) for a Kubernetes Service Account? Documentation skips over that part and Support so far was unable to answer this. Thanks,Stefan
