i have following scenario.

There was a user XYZ whose regular backup was taken and now he left company

we delete his account from AD.

So, as per infinite retention Policy , his data should remain in metallic forever? am i right?

Now, if AD admin recreates his account with same name then will his existing backups be overwritten?

Is there any way to get that data back?

i would agree with Mike,  in AD,  typically the new user, even though same name will have a new guid, If  guid is new then we treat it as new user.

I would expect that his new ID would show up with a different guid, but I’m not entirely sure.  Let me reach out and get someone to confirm.

I agree with @Mike Struening as well, this is a new user object and is treated as such.
