Hi Kamil,It’s very difficult to identify what is happening here - however can see it’s being killed (I assume because it looks like its not making any progress). You’d have to increase the logging level of the PostGresBackupParent module and see what it’s up to at this point:Ideally though, a support case should probably be raised for this as a job should either progress or fail - not get stuck :)
Hey Gabriele,Thanks for your reply and apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this! Are you solely running this restore from the command line? Have you tried a console launched restore job and if so does this perform as expected?
Hey @Gabriele Palumbo,Thanks for the info. Can you tell me what REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE is set to please? There should be no need to have the ‘as sysbackup’ in the RMAN script allocate command as this should be being done when first starting the rman session. If a password file is in use, have you checked it’s ok across the instances?ThanksEdd
Hey Mauro,You’re correct - the entire DB is restored as part of a point in time restore, then HANA will request via backint the logs which are needed to recover to the point in time chosen.RegardsEdd
Hello,How you do this is going to depend on your situation with ‘Commcell A’ and its clients…‘Catalog and merge’ is an option however is limited on supported agents → https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/11988_recovering_aged_data_overview.htmlIdeally you would use CommCell Migration - please check for the appropriate use case and if what you’re trying to do is supported → https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/5085_use_cases_and_operations_for_commcell_migration.html
Hello,A few questions please to get a better understanding...Are these VM’s shutting down gracefully or is it an unexpected shutdown? (Are the VM’s being powered off ungracefully). Are you performing IntelliSnap backups? If you create a snapshot of the VM’s outside Commvault, does the same issue occur? Can you tell us more detail about the migration which happened? Thanks
Hello,It sounds like you may be confusing SQL Clustering + Availability Groups (Which is a form of clustering - but at a database level, not instance level). You have said you have a 2 node failover cluster - this is a cluster of the entire SQL instance right? (If you open failover cluster manager, you see the SQL instance as a clustered app).Check this out (Watch the entire video but the link is set to show you specifically the clustering config): Assumption is made here that you’ve already installed Commvault on both SQL nodes + the SQL agent (And don’t add the clustered SQL instances on these physical nodes).
Hey Mohamed,To be able to give you the best answers here we’d need more info please…By RCA do you actually mean RAC? What procedure in our documentation are you following? Did you choose to restore the control file?
