We have two clients that we are backing up which are taking up a huge amount of time to back up. Commvault confirmed its not the backups but the data traffic that is causing extreme lengths in time to back up. My networking team cannot go any further to increase the throughput for data. Brought this issue to my management and suggested to have a normal backup happen to the client on a daily basis and with a weekly full but the difference is to only have the backups not backup anything 45 days or older. Then once a quarter do a full backup of everything (including all the 45 days and older)This runs into an issue because I don't know how to setup another default subclient on the clients in order to generate a quarterly backup. I know normally this is all resolved if we have Commvault deduplication, but my companies motto is work harder not smarter and decided its to costly to have this option.
