Spring Framework Vulnerability | spring4shell | cve-2022-22963 | cve-2022-22965 - Consolidated thread

Hi folks,We are aware of a pair of new Zero-Day vulnerabilities tentatively listed under cve-2022-22963 and cve-2022-22965 also known as ‘spring4shell’.We have an official page in our documentation for this situation located here. However, we can discuss late breaking updates or questions in this community thread. SummaryLast updated May 5th, 2022, 12:28 AM EST Commvault makes use of the Spring framework, however neither cve-2022-22963 or cve-2022-22965 apply to Commvault software or Metallic. Commvault does not not utilize the components for Spring MFC or Spring WebFlux, this means that we are not vulnerable to either exploit.The spring framework is present in a few Commvault components - again, unaffected by the two stated vulnerabilities.  CVMessageQueue service (CVMessageQueue.exe), responsible for push notifications for jobs, events, and alerts. Trending 11.28 (CPR2022E) issues and fixes

Hey folks,As we see a steady stream of adoption for version 11.28 (also known as Commvault Platform Release 2022E), there are a few trending issues we have detected along the way for that we have fixes for. I wanted to summarize those here to make folks aware in case they encounter them post upgrade and to help get your CommCell performing as it should as fast as possible. Update 4/08 - Maintenance Release 11.28.14 resolves all the issues below. You can obtain the latest Maintenance Release here. Issue #1 - “The case of the Unresponsive Commcell Console”  CommCell Console UI unresponsive after upgrading to Platform Release 2022E (11.28) or higher This one is caused by having custom shortcuts to the CommCell console. In 11.28 we are leveraging a new release of Java which requires extra parameters to be added to the shortcut. As customer shortcuts can be created outside of the default deployment, Commvault does not update those during upgrade which leads to the condition. Thankfully, the

Space reclamation issue with 11.28 MR60+ and 11.30 / 11.32

Hey folks,I wanted to let you know proactively about an issue we have found affecting CommCell’s who have upgraded to 11.28 Maintenance Release 60 or above, and anyone who has updated to 11.30 or 11.32.An update included in these releases made some scheduling changes behind the scenes, unfortunately it flipped a flag on space reclamation schedules which means they do not run the defrag process to perform data reclamation. This only impacts customers who rely on space reclamation where sparse support is not available on their mount paths. This does include Commvault HyperScale 1.5 or HSX as well.It’s worth noting that if you run space reclamation manually (not relying on the schedule) then the issue does not occur.Fortunately, the fix is simple, especially for FR28 customers. An update is available that can be installed without a service restart which will fix the flag on space reclamation schedules and turn on defrag again.A KB article for 11.28 is available which explains the issue an
