AWS & Commvault Support for IMDSv2

Hi all,

 

We’ve recently implemented IMDSv2 to our Commvault AWS deployed infrastructure. Are there plans to support IMDSv2 in future releases of Commvault? From what I can tell right now, we are getting:

“Failed to connect to virtual machine host as user “redacted” from access node “redacted”. Please select AWS proxy that has access to AWS instance metadata”

Our access node authentication method is: “IAM Role”

 

Just interested to understand is this is a limitation of the SDK being used for making connections over the API, or are we missing some permission set on our end to get this working?

Also support was added via below 2 forms in SP24 and above:

 

 For streaming backups, you would need below update which is official in SP24

 we are in the process of adding the support for  IMDSv2. I will keep you posted when we have the fix.

I’m unable to access this link. Any chance this is available externally? Looks like this may be limited to commvault support.

@lancecwhite , did you open a case for this?  @Bhama was referring to getting an incident created with support (who in turn would escalate to dev as needed).

Assuming you have a case created, can you share it with me here?
