Can we use higher version of ISO for 1-touch recovery or we have to use same ISO as of current version commserver?

As I know You need use the same 1-Touch version which client is provided and Commserve server too. Many times Commvault approach is to have the same version on entire environment, to not have conflict with features and some tools. 

So recommended is the same version what Commserve You have. 

But which Feature Release Commserve You have?

For Windows, you need to have the latest version of the ISO, of the same Service Pack as the CommServe or Media Agents, if the latter is lower. If your MAs are lower version, they might refuse to restore to the higher version client. This is documented bellow.

GNU/Linux 1-Touch Restores is the only odd agent, where we actually recommend the latest ISO, even of a higher version than the CommServe, because on GNU/Linux, we add all kinds of fixes for newer Distributions, and keep the ISO compatible with older CommCell versions. The ISO will just report itself as SP 24. In later version, we might report as SP 28 or SP 32, when changes are so big they break compatibility. Always check the documentation bellow.

This answer is good for Linux.

The Linux 1-touch ISO obtained from 11.32 will not be 11.32, it’s always 2 or so releases behind. Like wise, if you grab the Linux 1-touch ISO for 11.28, it won’t report as 11.28, it will again be about 2 releases behind. But they will include lots of hotfixes, which is why sometimes you might be asked to use the newer version of a Linux 1-touch ISO during any problems.
