HI All,

I’m looking for some details on Contentstore Mailbox solution in terms of technical explanation of working and high level steps for implementation. I have referred the documentation but they seems to confusing with so much of information to process.  It will be really helpful.

@KV singh Did you review the following?

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/109555_architecture_contentstore_mailbox_smtp_journal_solution.html

ContentStore Mail Server (SMTP) is a method of capturing all emails for journaling purposes, compliance, search, etc

Deployment is pretty straight forward as it is part of the mailbox agent solution.

Hello @Scott Reynolds  and @KV singh

Im looking also for instructions about SMTP Journaling (for o365) and I totally agree that Commvault documentation is very limited. https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/configurations_for_exchange_mailbox_contentstore_mailbox.html

In “Steps in the Commvault Software”, after Step 1 Install and configure the Exchange Mailbox, there is no information how to configure Step 2 Configure the ContentStore Mail Server (SMTP).

@KV singh  did you finally found any extra information?

Best regards,
Nikos

Hello to all,

I reply to myself! I found missing steps of Step 2 Configure the ContentStore Mail Server (SMTP), in following link: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.20/configuring_contentstore_mail_server_smtp_01.html

Procedure

  1. Go to the General tab under ContentStore Mail Server Role and select SMTP.

    1. From the CommCell Console, expand Client Computers.

    2. Right-click the client computer where the Exchange package is installed, and then click Properties.

      The Properties dialog box appears.

    3. Click Advanced.

The Advanced Client Properties dialog box appears.

    4. In the ContentStore Mail Server Role area, select SMTP.

    5. Click OK.

      The Commvault services restart automatically.

After that, you will be able to login to Web Server and continue with SMTP configuration:

Hope to help!

Best regards,
Nikos
