CV Index DB

Hello Everyone,

 

Our CV Index database increases very fast. When I check the Index Db folder I see the cvldxlogs folder. Can I delete this log folder (old dates)? Additionally, how can I do maintenance the index database? I should decrease the index database and log folder.

I would recommend you log a case with us as there are many things to check before we do anything.

Hello @IGA 

The Index DB logs should be replayed into the IndexDB automatically to update the Database and then our software should clean those down where applicable. - I would suggest to avoid performing any manual operations on Index related data unless instructed to do so by Support or Engineering.

 

To check the health of the Index DB’s, you can use this report in the Command Center: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/38739_health_report_index_state.html

 

If you’re having issues with Index Space, You could check which IndexDB’s are the culprits (of space consumption) and raise a support case. - We can then work with you towards resolving this.

 

Useful logs to check on the Media Agent are IndexState.log for the status of the DB’s, Also check LogManager and IndexServer for any indexing operations. - These will be specific to either an Index DB GUID or for a Job ID.

Hi Sebastian,

We use only one index server. I guess it’s the solution not resolving our problem.
