Hello,

There is a post related to the hardware refresh we want to perform but there are references to the HA installation with LiveSync configured. What would be the correct order to perform such task? Should LiveSync be dismantled and HW refresh carried out on a standalone host and then LiveSync setup again?

Just for clarification as the post title might be misleading, HW refresh of both primary and standby commsrv instances.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi @lborek,

Yes, Hardware Refresh is to only move Commserve DBs to the new hardware. Live Sync configuration has to be manually deleted on the old server and reinstall the commserve failover packages on the new hardware.

Please follow the below process:

--------------------------------------------

Step1: Disable LiveSync on the active machine
https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/104803_enabling_or_disabling_commserve_livesync.html

Step2: Uninstall the Commserve failover instances(instance002) on both the nodes (Current active and passive)

Step3: Delete Network Topologies and groups
https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/130397_network_topologies_and_clients_groups_created_for_commserve_livesync.html

Step4: Take a fresh DR backup and move the latest DR files to the new hardware. Then, shut down the old hardware/isolate it.

Step5: Install the Commserve software on the new hardware and then restore the Commserve DB using the CSrecoveryAssistant.exe Tool

Note: Use Alternative Method: Install the CommServe Software, and then Restore the Database

Step6: Install CommServe Failover Package (instance002) on the new active node
https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/105056_installing_commserve_failover_package_on_production_commserve_host.html

Step7: Install Commserve and Commserve failover packages on the new Standby node

Hi @Nutan Pawar G

It did the work. Any chance it’s included in doc’s? Isn’t it quite common scenario to cover?

Thanks!
